Pregnant after a Loss

2+ hours of BH :(

Woke in the wee hours of the morning with painful cramping/tightening feelings in my belly; they would last about a minute and were coming and going irregularly, every 3-15 minutes. I was pretty gassy, a little dehydrated, and definitely over-exerted myself yesterday so I'm guessing these are the culprits. Got up around 6am to drink water, change positions, and eat a little bit to see if that would help. Looks like they've finally let up (30 minutes since the last one), but certainly no fun!  I'll be 15wks tomorrow and don't have a scheduled appointment until next week. I know you're supposed to call if you have more than 4 BH an hour, but do you ladies think a call to my OB is still warranted since they've stopped?

It does sound like it was dehydration, but I would call. A few minutes of the nurse's time is worth the peace of mind.

  • So sorry. I would call for reassurance too and maybe they can get you in earlier if you are concerned. Thinking of you.
  • Thanks, ladies! I've only had one more BH since posting, so that's reassuring. I appreciate the input and it does seem like calling is best, just to be safe. Especially since we're moving 1000 miles away on Friday, it'd be good to know for sure that all's well. I think that was what got me yesterday; I've been sick for days but finally felt well enough to pack and did a lot! Ran all kinds of errands, packed several boxes, cleaned our patio, etc. I thought I was staying hydrated enough, but I think with all the activity, I just didn't get there. Thanks again :)

  • I am glad they let up, and I hope the nurse can give you some peace of mind.

  • Called the nurses line and while she seemed a little concerned that I was having BH so early, she checked with one of the OBs and he/she thought it wasn't something to be worried about. I was told to take it easy today and hydrate!

  • Glad you called just to check, and that it sounds like all is well. Sorry for the scare!
