Here Comes the Fear...ULTRASOUND UPDATE

Okay folks. First ultrasound is tomorrow and I woke up spotting this morning, it's not red...just "old blood" color. But that's how my last miscarriage started, the weekend before my first ultrasound. I'm crippled by fear. Stomach is in knots. I keep hoping and praying it's just normal pregnancy jitters and spotting, but please understand, I've never spotted during a pregnancy and -not- lost the baby, and I feel like going to pieces. If this happens again, I just do not know how I'll take it. I have -got- to have answers this time. No cramps...but that on the tissue is a true terror for me. Please lend me all the T&P possible. Update: the verdict is in...5 w 5 d pregnant. Healthy sac, healthy baby, beating heart! It was still very early, so the heart rate they got (88) they don't believe is accurate. I go back for a repeat ultrasound on 07/07 to confirm viability via good cardiac activity! I have to say this has relieved me quite a bit. I take extreme comfort in these ultrasound pictures of my Eensy kidney bean! FX for a fabulous repeat in two weeks with a lot more thump thump to see! Thanks sooooooo much for all the T&P!

    I know how terrifying it is.... We all do. I wish there was a magical cure to make the fear go away. There are some great mantras on the board... Maybe someone can post them? I know just recently one of our bumpies posted one that stuck with me. It went something like "my love for this baby is greater than my fear." I will say a prayer that your u/s goes well and that your spotting is nothing of concern!!

    I'm sorry that you're dealing with spotting, it's how I found out about my MC too so I understand how scary it must be. I hope the dr appt tomorrow is reassuring with good news.

    I was spotting on the way to my first U/S and it was all ok. So I will pray for the same thing for you. T&p's your way.

    Thank you ladies...I had a beta drawn Friday and after the spotting this morning couldn't bear to wait until tomorrow to find out the result. Just called the after hours line and spoke wight the on call physician. It was 2823 on Friday. So that is a promising number. The spotting has pretty much subsided for now. FX I'm getting worked up for no reason. You all have no idea how grateful I am for all the T&P! I will keep you all updated.

    I hope everything goes well. I learnt in this pregnancy that not all bleeding ends in a miscarriage. I had a SCH and I bled through the whole first trimester of this pregnancy :) Good luck!

    Spotting is so scary! I'm sorry you're going through this. I had similar spotting start the day before my first ultrasound of this pregnancy, and I felt all the same emotions/fears you described. My u/s showed baby to be a-ok. Hoping for the same for you and your LO! T&P's headed your way. Please keep us updated. ((Hugs))

    ... But I got home, was cramping, went to the bathroom and wiped, and there's blood all over the TP. Called the doc office back, and they said that's not uncommon after a transvaginal ultrasound and that as long as I didn't fill a pad not to worry. Ahhhh! How am I not supposed to worry?! I'm only 5 weeks pregnant and bleeding all over the place! This kid us taking full advantage of the fact I have anxiety issues!

    So happy everything turned out. The fear is crippling frost u/s this time I had panic attack in dr's office waiting.....h&h boring months for you!
