Our Thoughtful DHs

My grandmother passed away in the spring of 2012, and she left me a few things including a pretty little ring that only fit her teeny fingers (not my big ole 7.5s). I put it in my jewelry box and hadn't thought of it in a long time.

About a month ago, I had to remove my wedding bands. They were too tight, leaving a crease and turning my finger red and sore by evening. I was sad to have to go without them and mentioned it to DH.

Well he took that ring out of my jewelry box and had it resized to fit me so that I could have a ring to wear in the absence of my wedding bands. It was so simple and thoughtful that it made me tear up. He gave it to me yesterday:

What is something super sweet and thoughtful that your DH has done lately? Or what sorts of little things does he do to remind you of his love? :x

Any morning that I don't have to work, he brings me breakfast in bed.  Sometimes it's just cereal, other times it's French toast and bacon.  We eat in bed then snuggle while discussing what to do that day.

If it's a day I do work, he rubs my feet when I get home.

  • Oh man that's a beautiful ring! All of the husbands sound so sweet <3
Yesterday we had to drive home from a visit with my family. It was 3.5 hours and I passed out, hard! I know DH was tired so it was really sweet of him to let me sleep. I try not to do that so I can keep him company and he doesn't get bored on long drives but man I've been so tired lately! It's also super cute that he rubs my belly for no reason and talks to our baby. It makes me melt every time.

  • So sweet!

My SO has been very thoughtful/helpful all along.  This weekend he took me to Panera to get the cheddar broccoli soup I have been obsessing over and then bought me a comfy pair of flip flops because I have been complaining about my feet hurting a lot. He has also been doing the majority of the laundry and dishes, carrying groceries etc for me.  It's been great!

  • That is super sweet!!
My DH will randomly surprise me with flowers or a card from time to time. But last night he did bath duty for DD and woke up in the middle of the night to change her diaper and give her a bottle (without being asked).. he knew I have a busy/hectic week ahead at work and kicked in... soo nice when you don't have to ask for the extra help!

  • That is truly awesome! Such a beautiful ring too! Big props to your DH.

My DH does mostly little things, but they add up. Like knowing I wanted a little table for the patio so when we BBQ on our small charcoal grill (some day a nice gas one will be bought) I don't have to try a balance the plates of food on slanted chairs (next year a nice patio set will be bought too) and just showing up with it one day....or telling me to rest when we are supposed to be prepping dinner together or cleaning my plate after I come down late from a long work day for a late dinner, so I can go take a shower. Like I said, small things - but him trying every day to take care of me, means a lot.
