Growing out of diapers early?

I dont know what is going on!  DS has always been on the small side.  He was in the tenth percentile at his 6 mo check.  He is 8 mo now.  About a month ago, his diapers werent fitting well and he was leaking out of them.  he wears BB, Nickis pockets, Grovia AI2, and RaR OS pockets.   It was the first time i adjusted the rise on his diapers since he was about 3 mo.  Problem solved.  Less than a week later, I had to adjust the rise again.  I was starting to get concerned.  Last week we were on vacation and used sposies (pampers size 3).  I got back yesterday and had to adjust the rise again!  He is now completely unsnapped!  They are a little large like that, they go to his belly button, maybe slightly below.  I was hoping these diapers would last until he was about 35lbs or so.  I was hoping he would be potty trained by then.  I dont think we are going to make it past his first birthday now!  Is this normal?

    Yes, my skinny mini daughter did the same. And then at 1 year we snapped down a size again when she started walking more.

    I agree that it just changes as they get older and change shape, etc. they will probably last a lot longer than it seems right now.

    Additionally, Best Bottoms and RaRz have very short rises, those diapers are pretty notorious for not fitting through PLing for many babies. I'm sure it just depends on your kiddo's build.
