Trying to Get Pregnant

Before I get started on Provera

Anything I should know?

I spent my two week honeymoon having sex and trying my hardest to make a baby but without any clue of when I will O I feel like I was doing it blind.
I did the best I could to temp but wasn't always successful.

Doc wants me to take provera so I can get a cycle started in order to take my hsg test.

What side effects do any of you get? Should I warn DH now if I will become a dragon bitch?

Should I hold off a little bit to see if the honeymoon sex did anything?

Check out my chart. (I know. It's a hot mess). Any clues?

Are there enough questions here? ;)

Re: Before I get started on Provera

  • What's the cause for the recent open circles?
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

  • Open circles were probably because I wasn't temping at my usual 7:30am.
Now that I am on summer break I don't want up at consistent times. And when I was on my honeymoon we were in Europe so my schedule was really messed up.

  • How much later than normal are you temping?

  • Well, if I were you I would wait about a couple days (and try to be more diligent about temping) to see if todays higher temp means anything.

  • I don't have advice about provera, but I agree that waiting a few more days to see is a good idea and being more diligent with your temps. I have to temp at the same time every day to see anything, I know some people don't, but for me it's pointless to do it at different times.
  • Who prescribed the provera? Didn't they do an internal ultrasound to see if you had ovulated?

I just finished my 3rd round of provera, and I personally don't feel I have any crazy side effects. I get emotional, but that could be due to more of the reason I'm taking provera vs the medication itself. If anything, I think it might make me want to eat everything.

Every person is different though, so you could experience something totally different. It wouldn't be a bad idea to give your H a heads up, just in case.

    Good luck!

  • @onceinlovewithamy -- OB/gyn did. She wanted to get me on CD1 so they could schedule my HSG. No ultrasound was done. Just blood work.

  • I would also recommend waiting a little longer since you are on CD 48 and from your previous chart it does look like you maybe O'd on CD 60ish. Also, unless your dr is going to do an ultrasound before you take the Provera I would want to abstain before so that I knew I wasn't going to be taking it with any chance of being pregnant but that's just what I did.

When I took Provera I didn't really have any side effects and my period came a few days after stopping. The period was pretty normal to me too.

Also, I am a little confused about why you are having testing done already if you are just starting to TTC? I am not trying to be rude I am just curious. I see you have PCOS but I guess it just seems a little soon to me?
