trisharenee0316, or @Justabean3 and one of us will add you to the group.

If you contact one of us to join, please provide your name in the private message AND be sure your security settings are open to accepting friend requests. I can't speak for the others admins, but I have deleted each person from my personal friends list once they were added to my group. You can request to be deleted once added to the group, just be sure to remind the person who added you.

I seriously wish that my stranger danger alert was broken, cause I'd totally join. I just can't bring myself to do it.

@Emerald27 - I'm with you sort of! I'm not withholding because of stranger danger....I'm out because of the insanity that is my DD's BMB FB group. I had to leave it because I just couldn't handle the stupid that came out of that group. I want TB to remain my happy place and the FB group sort of ruined my daughter's BMB (with a few exceptions) for me.

Anonymity is good!

I'm sure I messages someone with my FB info but never got invited to the page. I mostly bump from my phone and can't seem to pm from here, so if I remember when in at my computer I'll send it again. If not, I just won't be in the group. I'm hardly ever at my computer!

@crystal8503 I'm just curious- why is it being closed so early? My other BMB FB group didn't even begin until we had our babies and it's still open for people to join. It seems so early to me.... There's still so much time for so MUCH drama to go down between now and then.

Can't we just search the name of the fb group and request to join? That's how my other fb group is. ?!?

We had mentioned it as a group on FB that we wanted a closing date to avoid lurkers and stranger danger so we could share photos of babies and grow closer as a group. We felt like having a closing date was best for.all and voted on it.

I've noticed that many BMBs have multiple facebook groups.. Many are started later once ladies have grown closer on the board and want to get to know specific people better outside of TB.

I have my own level of stranger danger when it comes to being online but there are ways to protect yourself. My account is completely private and nobody can send me requests, see my photos, etc unless we are friends. My last name is not part of my account because I prefer to have that added bit of privacy, not that it really matters if you are that secure with all of your settings. You give out your name on an almost daily basis without even thinking about it. Only friends of my friends are even able to send me a friend request. I'm involved in many groups and I keep them very separate with Facebook's privacy settings. If you want to give it a try, I can add you and I promise to delete you once I have added you to the group, just as I have with every other person.

Personally, I wanted to wait and close it in November but it's not my decision to make. It is the decision of the group and they preferred to have it close before babies started arriving and this allows time for those who may deliver prematurely.

No, you can't search it because it's a secret group. Unless you are in it or told about it, you don't know it exists.

You might have messaged someone but it wasn't me. I will check again, but I'm certain I have responded to everyone who has ever inquired. If the settings didn't allow me to send a request, I sent a return message stating that and asking for the settings to be opened for a short time.

No, you can't search it because it's a secret group. Unless you are in it or told about it, you don't know it exists.

The person who created the fb page for my other BMB had announced it on our board what the name was so we could search and request to join it. I don't think that it's such a huge deal.

You might not think it's a big deal but the comfort and opinions of the groups current members trump everything. Join if you want to, you're more than welcome and we'd love to welcome anyone interested, but the group's rules and status will not change because of nonmember opinions. We took into account the preferences of our 112 members and that's much more important to us as a community. We can't please everyone.

I'm so conflicted. I wish you guys were not closing the group this early but as you said you aren't going to change for nonmembers.

Is there a possiblity of letting people join later on who have been regulars on the board?

I can ask the group but once the rulr is bent for one, it'll be expected to be bent for everyone. I honestly do not think the group will be in favor. Like I said previously, I thought November was a better time but it's not my group, it's our group and everyone needs to be happy. Why don't you just try it out if you're conflicted and leave if you aren't happy with us? You have all the way until September to decide. I am giving this notice extremely early so everyone has time to mull over the idea and make their own decision without feeling rushed.

I knew what you meant, I was just pointing out it would be hard to say no once we said yes to one (or a small group).

I'm a stickler for my privacy and have been in a group with @trisharenee0316‌ since May 2012 and she still doesn't know my last name. We'll actually be meeting for the first time in person when I travel out of town for a wedding in one week. You can maintain you privacy and anonymity as much or as little as you like, just select the FB settings you are most comfortable with. Every group is going to have drama at one point or another. That said, our group has yet to have any and is becoming a more supportive place with each passing day.
