Hello Ladies!
You all have offered me such wonderful advice on my previous posts that I thought I'd throw this one out there as well.
I had done TONS of stroller research when putting together my baby registry and my awesome parents bought us the graco click connect (4-wheel model) travel system that we had picked. Unfortunately, I did not look too carefully at the amazon listing at the actual size of the infant car seat (we got a max 22 pounds when we had really wanted one that went to 30 or 35 pounds) and had to return it. Now that i've had even more time to second guess and agonize over a stroller decision, I am thinking that we want to completely switch up the model to get. It has me specifically thinking about inflatable vs. plastic all terrain tires.
We know that we will want to use our stroller frequently when DS is little for long walks in the neighborhood, day trips, taking him to the park, occasional outdoor activities, occasional city use, etc. The jogger strollers (like the graco jogger) with inflatable tires seem like they give a smooth ride over and can handle whatever terrain we encounter..........however, i don't actual jog. Is it weird/totally unnecessary to get a "jogging stroller" without actually intending to jog with it? Is it also weird to have such a "rugged" stroller in everyday situations like going to stores? I've been looking at some graco stroller frames on craigslist and have been thinking this will be a good option no matter which travel system we decide on.
As a substitute to the jogger, I've been looking at the graco sport (they have 3 wheel and 4 wheel models) with those plastic type "all terrain" tires. I have not actually been able to find one yet in the stores to try out but if they are anything like the plastic tires on the standard click connect graco travel system they seem like they would be cheaper in quality and that they would get incredibly annoying to use over gravel, cobblestone, or grass (but major pros are that it folds up more compactly than jogger strollers to fit in my car or take on the subway, and offers better shade protection than the graco jogger model)
So am I just really over thinking this? Are all these tires really comparable for what I want to use my stroller for?
Re: stroller tires: Inflatable vs. plastic all terrain
I had many of your same questions and wasn't sure what to get. I decided I wanted the Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat, so that was the first decision made. I also didn't/don't want a big bulky stroller, but did want something easily compatible with the seat. So we bought the Chicco Nuevo travel system. The stroller is lighter and smaller (from what I can tell) than the Cortina system. We got it a couple of weeks ago, put it together, and I really like it so far. It's easy (without baby at least), maneuverable, and the wheels seem like they'll hold up well.
I also walk a lot in my neighborhood and have have thought of getting a jogging stroller. I have the Graco jogger on my registry...if we don't get it at a shower, though, I'll probably hold off on buying it until after baby is here and I see how the Chicco works for us.
Side note, from what I've heard and read, even though the car seats will hold up to 30 or 35 lbs, it's highly unlikely that the baby will be in it up until that point. They usually outgrow it by height first. So you would probably be just fine with the Graco 22 seat you had.

I'm not a fan of most of graco and chicco strollers though they make great car seats. Don't settle on your stroller to have it the same brand as your car seat. For the same price, there are better options from other brands that work perfectly with an adapter.
