We're not. My family has never had registries or showers for any
occasions. So not doing them seemed "normal" to me growing up. We do give small gifts to each other and have small holidays but it was always casual and gifts were always optional.
A lot of people express surprise that we aren't registering and aren't having a shower.
I'm not having a traditional shower since this is my second. However, some ladies in my church are putting together a little get together. No gifts will be brought but we will just all meet, have food and chat.
Also to add, I lived in a different state when I had my first and didn't yet know any of the ladies who are putting this gathering together.
We're also not having a shower for this LO (its #2) but a 'Meet the Baby', I wasnt going to do a registry for the completion coupon but I think I might.
I'm not having a shower because the people I know here I haven't know very long and its seems a little awkward. Plus its not customary in Switz. and the culture here isn't as intimate as American so while I have friends we're not super close like my USA girls. I was kinda sad at first but then we decided to do a little "Passport Party" for him when we bring him back to the States to get his baby passport for the first time. Probably about 4 months.

10% off coupon at Target! We're not telling anyone just registering for stuff that our baby boy might need. We still have lots of stuff from our DD. And maybe just registering for some stuff that mommy and daddy want for the 10% off : )

So I got curious if my family is really bizarre!
