As I'm reading stuff about deciding which convertible car seat, it sounds a lot like people are only buying one. Is that what you guys are doing? I feel like we need one for each car. If you're buying one, how are you making that work? Of you're buying two, is it two of the same or two different seats?
Re: How many convertable car seats?
I also feel like it would be a hassle to switch back and forth.

In that mix (for DD1), we had three Cosco Sceneras and 1 Graco MyRide that we bought. Then my parents bought a MyRide for their car.
We have since given one Scenera away. One is at the ILs. The other Scenera is a back up for DH's car but DD1 has outgrown it, so it will become DD2's back up. We have a Nautillus that DD1 can use in his car if necessary (which puts her ff even though she is still rf in my car).
We bought a Graco MySize for DD2 in my car. At the moment, the ILs and my parents don't have any other back up seats for the girls. Not sure if we will get more or just transfer when needed. It hasn't been a problem as DD2 is with me 99% of the time since she's my boob addict. Lol

ETA -- we bought the Coccoro for DD when she outgrew the infant carrier. Now that she has outgrown it rear facing she has the NextFit which will take her to four rear facing. It makes a great travel seat for airplane rides, too
