Ds2 pooped on the potty! Like the real deal. Of course, he peed on the floor two minutes later, but I'll take it.

Ds1 came to DS2's social group last weekend and was wonderful. He quietly observed and behaved, and I think it gave him some insight into ASD. He asked if he can go back next week.

DH was heating up a left over pizza slice yesterday for DS.

DH was teasing DS that he was going to eat the pepperonis. I got DS to go wash his hands and DH said it again. DS said "Daddy, do not eat my pizza!"

I told DH "is that the response you wanted?" DH said "yes."

DS is starting to his words when hes upset!
He says, "Mommy, Im mad at you!", or "The music is too loud! Can they lower it?"

DS was such a sweet boy yesterday. DD is going through a separation anxiety phase and yesterday was quite overtired, she was crying a lot. DS was trying to sing songs to her, make her laugh, give her toys without being asked. We were on the highway, 40min from home...she was fed and diapered, and kept spitting out her paci, so she had to CIO.

My heart melts with him!

On Monday DD1 put on her sneakers AND TIED THEM all by herself! She's been very determined to learn how to tie shoes--I'm really proud of her.

You should see if you can locate a Sib Shop for your older son.

A Sib Shop is a professionally facilitated support group for sibs of kids on spectrum where they can ask questions, vent, talk about fears and commiserate with other kids who get it because they're living it too.

Thanks for the tip! I will look into this. I bet he would like it.

Earlier this week I had a bedtime discussion with my new-to-a-toddler-bed two year old about how when it is dark out it is night and we go to bed at night...and how when the sun comes out then it is the day. I told him he needed to stay in bed until The Day.

The next morning he greets me at his door saying, "Ma. Daaay." Smarty Pants.

We went to the splash park today. And DS1 hated it when we got there. After some time he warmed up and had a blast.

But the real AW. He was walking. In sandals. He was standing and walking all over the place! And not a wobbly unbalanced walk, but a real walk! 2 years ago I could never have imagined being here, where my little baby (he's 4 but will always be my baby) is walking!

DS has mastered the backstroke and is learning the breaststroke. He can even swim the length of his teacher's big pool, including rolling to float on his back to switch to the backstroke.

Can I chime in with more?

Last night DS came up to me, handed me an empty box of raisins, looked me in the eye and signed "more". Needless to say the boy got his raisins immediately. Later on, when I was talking about how proud I was of him again and how I was going to tell everyone how great he did, he had the biggest proud smile

Another late addition:

Tonight I had a glass of milk out for DS. I had a sleeping baby in my arms, so I quietly said DSs name, did the sign for milk while quietly saying the word and then pointed at the cup. He looked my way when his name was said and did the milk sign as he reached up for his cup. YES!

I was just fixing DD popcorn for a snack while tidying up the kitchen.

When the microwave dinged she looked at me and said "Mama it's ready" clear as a bell.

I just about fell over, that isn't a phrase we use so she pretty much put it together all on her own!

I have a brag! Last night Charlie ate three of those Gerber puffs without gagging and vomiting. Those are the first finger foods he has ever successfully eaten. Up until that he had never eaten anything thicker than stage 2 purées without gagging. Last night we were sitting around the table having a snack and he acted interested in our food for the first time so I decided to try again and he did it!

This is late, but by the time this Wednesday rolls around, he probably won't be doing it anymore. DS1 ate SCRAMBLED EGGS 3 times this weekend. He has not eaten meat, outside of the scrambled eggs in his feeding program (which started in March), in his entire life. He only seems to like 1 food at a time (for a given "meal" or day even). We used the eggs as incentive to get him to eat a few green beans. But still, this is huge!
