Short Version: Savannah Rose was born at 38W 3D, weighed 8lb and was 19inches long via epi assisted vaginal birth.

Long Version:
From June 5th to 6th I thought I may have had a slow leak of amniotic fluid so I went to the OB on Friday. Litmus test was positive in the office, ultrasound showed good fluid levels, internal exam and microscope testing revealed it was not my water leaking. NST was normal so I went back to work as normal. No further signs of labor that evening.

Woke up Saturday June 7th and headed to work. Water broke at 10AM, but I didn't want to be "that girl" that was just sent away yesterday. So I stayed at work until 12 to be sure it was truly my water breaking. I work in the hospital where I delivered so I called the OB who said because I wasn't having regular contractrions to go home until 4pm. I went home and DH and I finished up our last minute packing and prepping, called our family to come stay with SD and SS, and we headed back at 4 PM.

They started pitocin at level 18 at about 430pm -I was 2CM and fully effaced.  Contractions were becoming intolerable around 6pm so I asked  for the epi (I was at 5cm. Savannah didn't take well to the epi (decelerating heart rate with every contraction) so I had to continue laboring on my Left side and the Pit was stopped for 30 minutes.  By 7pm they turned the Pit back to 9, checked me a bit later and I was at a 10. My OB had me "labor down" for about an hour. I pushed from 8:30 until she arrived at 8:57pm. I had a 2nd degree tear and DH almost passed out because he was holding his breath along with me while I pushed. I told him if he passed out he had to stay on the floor until our baby was born.  The cord had been around her neck which was causing her heart rate to decrease during contractions, but when she came out my DH got to announce that we had a baby girl. We got to do skin to skin as soon as they cleared her airways. Breast feeding took a while to figure out, but at 11 days old our sweet little girl is doing wonderfully and we are in love.

I will attach a photo as soon as I upload them onto my computer.
