Maternity Photos -- When?

So, a friend has offered to do maternity photos. She did our engagement photos, and they're wonderful.

She's about 5 hours away, though, and my original thought was to do them the weekend of the baby shower. However, that assumes a lot of things, not least of all that she would want to even come to the baby shower anyway. Plus, I don't think I need to worry about two things in one weekend. AND, my baby shower is around 32 weeks for me.

That brings me to my point of this post. WHEN are you, or DID you, if you are already a mom, do your maternity photos?

This sounds silly, but I already feel huge. I did not get a cute bump. I just got fat everywhere. I feel pretty uncomfortable, and I'm not that far along. So, I don't know if I want to wait until 32 weeks to do them, and if I do, I'm not sure I'll like what I see. I want to see a nice big bump. But. I feel like I'm going to be HUUUUUGE.

The only weekends I have would be almost 28 weeks or almost 30. Is that too early if I don't do the 32 weeker?

    Thanks. I'm looking at my calendar and thinking about the week just before I turn 30 weeks or the week just before I turn 31. My baby shower is right before I turn 33.

    I feel like I could just take these pictures right now and look 30 weeks pregnant. :\

    if I have a mom shoot closer to 30 I seriously tell them to stick it out, no shame in that :)

    I just wish there was a crystal ball that would tell me what I'd look like at xx amount of time. Maybe I'll LOVE what I look like bigger. Doubtful, but it could happen.

    I am just getting fat everywhere, not just bump. I think my main concern is my face and arms will just be huge, too, and I won't even be able to wear my wedding rings in the photo or something.

    I'm doing mine at 31 weeks the day before my shower but only because I'll be going out of state (back home) for it and had my eye on a photographer for a long time and that's my only timeframe of being there.

    I say its up to you. I shot a maternity session for a couple in May and she was 36 weeks... but she was also small even then so any earlier and I'm not sure she would have been happy.

    I get fat all over too. Trust me, even though you feel huge now, closer to your due date it will be an actual bump. All the focus will be on that and you will look great :) I think anywhere from 31-36 weeks will be just fine.

    We did at 34 weeks. I would not worry about your arms or face. Just find a really nice flattering outfit that you LOVE.  I talked with our photog ahead of time and mentioned some of my problem areas (areas that I hate) and she did a great job of making sure the photos didn't highlight any of those areas.

    We did ours at ~32 weeks and I was huuuuuge. But at least I looked definitively pregnant.

    I'll be having mine done at 27 weeks. Not what I want exactly, but my photographer of choice will be leaving the country.

    My photographer recommended somewhere between 28 and 32 weeks- go at 28 if you would feel more comfortable :)

    Ok, so you look gorgeous. My bump is that big right now, and I have the added bonus of fat everywhere else in addition. I'm worried about my arms in the photos. :\

    I want to do mine before the summer is over so I'll probably have them taken around 33 Weeks. DH really wants some pictures at the pumpkin farm so we'll get a couple when I'm really huge around 37 weeks too. I'm lucky though, my MIL is a photographer so I can really do them anytime.
