First False Alarm

Had my regular OB check on Thursday everything still looks good heading into my 35 week. Doctor said I was dilated 2 cm, being my 3rd pregnancy I know it could be there for a long time. Today I had so much pressure both vaginally and rectally I was a little concerned then I was having terrible menstral like cramping. Then started feeling some contractions. Called the doctor he said to go in. Once I got to the hospital I have all but the cramping was better. I am still only 2 cm, I thought maybe today was the day but nope. Anyone have anything like this happen?

    I went to the hospital Friday and they kept me overnight for monitoring. 

    When I wiped first thing Friday morning there was a smidgen of red blood on the tp so I called L&D and noticed I had some cramping, too, so they wanted me to come in to make sure it was or wasn't labour. I was technically having contractions, but babies were great. Had like 3 freaking NSTs (and another this morning) and an u/s and babies were perfect. The cramps totally subsided Friday night and had only some BHs Saturday that I didn't even notice except on NST, and now there's nothing happening.

    They think my cervix is "ripening" and I guess just getting ready for labour, but nothing yet! Seems totally normal at this point in our pregnancies to have false alarms. Just hope they show up soonish! Nurses think I have maybe a week left. Glad you guys are all okay though! :)

    Thanks ladies for the support. Hoping thing will start moving a long soon. Have and I other NST this morning then to tomorrow see my OB and Thursday see MFM for growth scan and another NST. Home stretch now.

    I had two false alarms that sent me to the hospital- one at 29 weeks and one at maybe 34.  Both times my pain was increasing and I was having increased pressure or BH…it was just the start of a new round of discomfort.  My OB said if a MoM doesn't show up in L&D at least a couple times with false alarms, then you are doing something wrong ;-).  I made it to my C-section at 37 weeks.
