Re: GTKY 6/20 Edition!

  • 1. If you could meet one LIVING famous person, who would it be and why? I guess Oprah Winfrey, just to talk about her empire (get some tips) ;-)

    2. What was your favorite toy/book/thing when you were a little kid?
    Playmobile, followed by Breyer Horses

    3. What's your most irrational fear?

Since K & O came into my life I have to struggle sometimes to keep my wild imagination under control.  I don't watch the news, or movies about terrible things that happen to kids anymore.  I'd say my kids getting kidnapped (or some other terrible tragedy happening). I watch them like a hawk when we're out.  Sigh - and I'm really a very trusting person and I don't prohibit K from greeting and talking to strangers because I know (in my logical mind) that the world is mostly good or well intentioned people. Still I don't let my guard down too much ;-)

    4. What's the best meal you've had this week? On Tuesday night we went to Oakland to apply for a birth certificate. Afterward we went for a walk around Jack London square and ate dinner at a Chicken and Waffle place.  The waffles were amazing :-)

    5. What's up this weekend? So I'm home scrambling to prepare for a phone interview.  I'm so rusty when it comes to my interview skills and talking about work related successes.  Work?  What's that - jk.  Anyway whether this leads to anything or not it will be good practice.  If I can get a few other things done today during the day we'll head to the county fair this evening.   Very excited! I'm going to have salad for lunch to leave room for funnel cake later ;-)
Tomorrow we don't have plans but I would like to finally make it to the gym. I've had literally an uncanny amount of bad luck in getting to the gym.  Twice last week we packed the kids up to go and were turned away by closed childcare (one evening the club was having a graduation event the staff were working, the other afternoon they closed early for fathers day), and then twice this week I've been stuck at home because of the water heater breaking and various related repairs.  Needless to say I am dying to go, not even to work out really, but to sit in the hot tub.  It's been FOREVER.  There were no hot tubs (that we had access too at least) in Roatan, and then we were TTC and pregnant.  I want to have a long soak with a book soooooo badly I can't even tell you.
Sunday we're getting together with friends and their 23 month old. Probably going to their apartment to hang out by the pool.

  • 1. Famous person- Oprah...been a part of so much change throughout life that I think there would be some awesome stories.

    2. Favorite toy- my stuffed panda bear...it went everywhere with me! Book was "Milk and Cookies". About a baby bear who has bad dreams. Favorite thing was my dog TJ (Golden Retreiver). He was my best bud!

    3. Fear of falling. I'm tall (6foot) and always fear falling. Also petrified of roaches!!!! I cry!

    4. Sunday wife took me to outback w her coworker and his wife. Yum!!!

    5. Weekend- tomorrow is a bitter sweet day as my BFF from here is having her bday/moving away party. She's moving to Nashville after a messy divorce from her husband. She's having a roller skating party. Lmao. Should be fun.

Also taking Kaydie to vet to see if her liver enzymes look any better. :(. If not it means kidney disease. :(

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).
IUI #1 (medicated) Jan. 2013-BFP!!!!- Beta's didn't double, MTX shot for possible ectopic.
    8 IUI's between April 13-April 14 = BFN
IUI #10 and final before IVF, injectables May 2014- BFP!!!!  TWINS!!!!

7 week ultrasound showed 2 wonderful heartbeats!
8 weeks to the ER with vaginal bleeding while on vacations!  Diagnosed SubChorionic Hemorrhage.  Babies are both great.
9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.
  • 1. If you could meet one LIVING famous person, who would it be and why?Angelina Jolie. I admire her as an actress, activist, and mom
    2. What was your favorite toy/book/thing when you were a little kid? I loved the book The Giving Tree. My mom use to read it to me. Great memories
    3. What's your most irrational fear? I have a few...one is being found out that I am just faking it daily with my job. I am not, but sometimes it feels like it.  I also have a ridiculous fear of needles. It is debilitating (and sucks when pregnant LOL)
    4. What's the best meal you've had this week? I think the wife and I have been slackers with dinners this week. Everything has been throw it together or eaten out.
    5. What's up this weekend? It's the first weekend with no plans. Today is suppose to be the final inspection for our pool (however the county employee was suppose to be here at 8am and hasn't shown-Awesome). I have a massage tonight and then dinner with friends. Tomorrow we will try to set up our new pool area and just hang out. Sunday I am not sure. M is kinda twitchy and likes to do things so I am sure we will end up somewhere

PIPs always fun and encouraged!! Here I am at 25 weeks. My beautiful boy is photobombing the second one. He will not let me go anywhere alone

  • 1. If you could meet one LIVING famous person, who would it be and why? Hm. I don't know. I'd probably be too awkward to make any meeting interesting. :) Damn introvert. :)

    2. What was your favorite toy/book/thing when you were a little kid? Loved these Childcraft books. I used to read them over and over again. Also loved Barbies and Legos.

    3. What's your most irrational fear? It used to be my kids drowning - which isn't really irrational. I worry less since they can at least swim to the side of a pool if they fell in. But they still can't tread water so in big bodies of water, I still worry. I also worry about people breaking into the house while I am there. Not really rational since we don't live in a high crime area and we have an alarm.

    4. What's the best meal you've had this week? Had good sushi from Wegmans the other night. I think it beat the Chipotle I also had this week since by the time I got around to eating the Chipotle it was cold.

    5. What's up this weekend? I have a party for a co-worker to attend tonight. L is picking up 2 of the kids friends and taking them to see a movie and then they are sleeping over at our house. Saturday - L has a hair appt and I'll hang with the kids, take them to the park/playground, wait around to get my windshield repaired, perhaps take the kids to the pool if it is warm enough (was 99 Wednesday and the high tomorrow is 72.) Then we are taking them all to a minor league game in the evening. Sunday - church, brunch, hang out with the neighbors and teach the kids to ride their bikes. I am exhausted already. :)

  • 1. If you could meet one LIVING famous person, who would it be and why?
I have no idea...I would say Joe Perry from Aerosmith, but I fear that I would be way disappointed with him in person and that would ruin my love of the band.
    2. What was your favorite toy/book/thing when you were a little kid?
I had a dump truck and backhoe that I played with in the sandbox.  I loved them both so much.  They had buttons for noises and were decent size toys.  The last I knew, my Mom still has them.  They will surely make a reappearance for our kiddo(s).
    3. What's your most irrational fear?
Being tortured to death and having someone break into our house while we are home.  I used to read forensic science mystery type books, some based on true stories, so I have a great handle on the different ways that a person can be tortured.  The likelihood is probably incredibly small that it would happen, but I still fear it.  Also, we live out in the country with relatively close neighbors.  Realistically, no one is going to break into our house, especially when we are home.  I suppose you never know though.
    4. What's the best meal you've had this week?
Wednesday night we had chicken cordon bleu with sauteed potatoes and mushrooms.  I made it and it was wonderful!
    5. What's up this weekend?
It looks like we are going out for dinner tonight.  Tomorrow we may participate in a town to town scavenger hunt on the motorcycle.  We are also going out for dinner tomorrow night for a birthday of one of her cousins.  Sunday we are going to a chicken bbq at a family member's home of mine.

  • Whoa my Friday got away from me! Here we go!

    1. I think I'd meet Jon Stewart - that guy is SO SMART and of course funny, but with a serious, honest undertone. The only caveat is J would have to be with me because she is WAY more politically aware and smart about pop culture, news and world happenings.

    2. When I was a kid I was pretty attached to my blanket, Cuddles. Also, I loved the Little House on the Prairie books a lot. I wasn't much into Barbies. And as soon as I had a record player I was obsessed. I got Abba's "Take a Chance on Me" 45 when I was like 5 and played it 2000 times on my blue and white plastic record player. My poor mom.

    3. I worry a lot when J leaves to go to work at 4:30 or 5 a.m. that someone will break in, thinking the house is empty, when I'm still there sleeping. Unlikely as in the past year, BOTH houses on either side of us got broken into but we didn't, likely because they were smart -they cased things and we have very 'alternative schedules' in that we come and go a lot (J esp.) and I work from home almost always now. I'm also completely skeeved out by snakes. Ick.

    4. J had her employee meeting on Monday, so I made myself a killer piece of fresh blackened salmon on grill, atop a big fat ceasar salad. It was a nice evening so I sat outside in the backyard and all the cats joined me. :)

    5. This weekend is the "big" weekend for our neighborhood in that we have the big Solstice Parade and Festival! It's super fun and the parade features usually 200+ naked people on bicycles (painted up, mostly...) and then only non-motorized floats. It's very whimsical and fun - it's today at 3 p.m. so we're looking forward to that! J has a college friend going through town and we're seeing them on Sunday. Otherwise, yoga, a lake walk, and some nursery detail work. Getting super close - still having lighting challenges, and need to get some guts to start hanging things on the walls!!! Oh, and we have one episode left of OITNB...That V is vicious!!
