blowing bubbles-developemental age

So my almost 3yo tries so hard to blow bubbles. I try to model what I do with my mouth since he sinks his teeth into his bottom lip. He definitely has success at times but its not consistent. I know practice makes perfect but is this just one of those skills you see happen more at a certain age/stage?

Re: blowing bubbles-developemental age

  • My almost 2 year old just figured it out today. I think she figured it out by practicing. She also loves to blow the dandelion seeds. She only gets it about 10% of the time, but is improving daily.

  • I don't remember when it happened with my kid - somewhere between 2 and 3, though.

  • My DD has oral sensory issues and could not figure out how to blow.  We worked on using straws to blow and then taking the straw away slowly.  We would use a straw to blow a feather across a table and take the feather away to see if she could match what she'd done with her mouth.  It took her a bit too figure out but this was a huge help.  She was probably just over 2.5 when we started working on this.
