The weight threads

If you have a weight question really you should ask your doctor.

The people who have gained 1 don't want to hear about people whining they gained 20

The people that have gained 20 don't want to see about the people who have gained 1

Everyone is different, every pregnancy is different... Please be kind to yourself and if you are making healthy choices and still concerned talk to your doctor.

I totally understand don't click on it also but when the title is "haven't gained enough" or "gained too much" you don't even need to open it.

Vent I know, sorry.

Re: The weight threads

  • Sorry, made my weight gain check in post because I saw the gaining too little post and saw so many who are gaining a substantial amount less than me. My OB isn't concerned and I'm not seeking advice really...kind of wanted to get an idea of others' gain at this stage out of curiosity. Selfishly, it just makes me feel a bit better just seeing others gaining the same as me...

    I don't mind the check-ins and the
titles are not triggering to anyone
  • Truth be told, you might say that we should talk to a doctor about many of the things posted here, but we reach out to each other by ause that's what this forum is for: to reach out yo eachother and support each other.
  • Hahhahha is that a slow clap or appreciative. I can't tell :p

Right but what @justabean3 was saying was ask your doctor if you have a question about weight like "Should I gain more weight" None of us here are qualified to answer that question I don't think a question like that should be asked on the board and shouldn't be lumped into "we are here to support one another"

    Yes exactly.

Ah, I love when people who haven't posted since March (with the exception of a name post) tell us all the purpose of this forum and reference "support".
Exactly. If you want to see support, then support should be given in return. It's always the people who complain about the lack of support the ones that either don't post ever or only respond to their own threads for the most part.

Yep. Like some the cray cray's on 2nd Tri right now. Although those tri boards are a world of their own, I swear.
    Yes they are!

  • THANK YOU.

Personally, for me, even the check-ins are triggering. I'm sick of worrying about it, it's all I hear/see in regards to pregnancy. But I have food/weight issues, I'm having a hard time with the body changes, and I can suck it up if people want the check-in posts. Just, all these individual ones are REALLY irritating. Especially the ones where I sort of feel lke the people KNOW damned well it's fine, they just want people to know they have hardly gained anything, and no one even knows they are pregnant, omg.

  • There are a lot of posts on here that are best addressed by a professional (OB or midwife).

Sometimes it's also helpful to poll others but hopefully it's in addition to talking to a professional.

Guilty. :\"> But my doctor has said that he wants me to gain more each week, yet I feel like I'm already heavy enough that weight gain shouldn't be a big deal for me. I posted my thread asking how much you ladies have gained because I was genuinely curious to see if I really was that far behind. I'm already overweight, though, so there's no reason to envy my lack of pregnancy-related gain.

ETA: I posted my thread like a month ago, so I realize you weren't talking about it specifically.
