Anyone have experience delivering at Lutheran General (park ridge) or NorthShore Evanston? I'm trying to decide between the two. I plan to visit both, but their tour dates aren't available until the end of July. Thanks!
Love love live lgh! Delivered my dd there in 2011 as well as delivering my twins there this month. Excellent nicu if needed great staff and great reputation. Best wishes!
Just had my twins at a North Shore Evanston and had a fantastic experience. Our one son did have a short stay in the NICU and their services were amazing. We actually live 10 minutes away from Lutheran General but have been less than impressed with the Advocate system (software breach where patient data including ours was leaked, serious contamination issues with a specific gastroenterology procedure than impacted many individuals and made the news here). I don't have any experience with their maternity area but have heard positive things about it. Overall, we just preferred the North Shore system.
I haven't delivered yet and can't offer any info on Luthern but after touring and meeting midwives at Advocate Masonic, Swedish Covenant, and Prentice, I ended up choosing North Shore Evanston. Aside from the main things that go into making a hospital decision (services, professionalism, location, etc.) overall, I just got a great, calm vibe from the place. (Which is what I really needed.) It was the last hospital I toured and I'd actually already started with a midwife at Advocate, but after the Evanston tour I made the switch and have been happy so far. Since choosing it I've talked to several friends who have delivered there with great experiences.
I delivered at Evanston and had a wonderful experience. We got to our induction at 3:45 am and the nursing staff was so upbeat, friendly, and helpful despite being the middle of the night. They got my permission before doing anything and fully explained everything so I could understand. It was a very calm, wonderful experience and I will deliver there again.
