It's raining, I'm bored.  Here are the names I am looking at so far.

Tell me what you think, you can be honest, I don't have my heart set on any of them.

Boy- William, Noah, Samuel, Benjamin, Adam, Oscar, George, Elliot

Girl- Amelia, Arianna, Harper, Scarlett, Elise, Evelyn, Victoria, Vivian, Ruby

  • I love Ruby (and you might too since you listed it twice ;) ). Evelyn is also great. Those are my favorite of your girls.

George is great. Noah is overdone (I think it's the current #2 boy name ). I also like Elliot and Oscar.

  • All of them are nice names! Adam is on my boys list too (still trying to convince H)

I've always loved the name Victoria as well

  • Solid list! :)

William- Like, especially with the nick name Will

    Noah- Like

    Samuel- Like

    Benjamin- Like

Adam- Like, and I never hear this name anymore

Oscar- While I generally love "old man" names, I'm not a fan of this one

George- It's ok. I think it will grow in popularity due to a certain little prince, and it's probably growing on me for that same reason.

    Elliot- Like

    Amelia- Like, despite its popularity

    Arianna- Not a fan

Harper- NMS but I know a couple of sweet little Harpers so I have good associations

    Scarlett- Like

Elise- Like, but it reminds me of a name I love even more, which is Eloise.

Evelyn- Like, but I have to admit, I know a LOT of little Evelyns. I can think of 5 off the time of my head who are 3 or younger.

Victoria- Like especially with the nn Tori

    Vivian- Like

Ruby- Love (it's my niece's name, so I am probably biased!)

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE Harper!!  (But I may be biased as that's the girl name we've chosen...but I have never met a Harper I didn't just adore).  My grandma was Ruby so I love that name too (Haha...and her sister was Pearl, I guess even back then parents had themes in mind?!)

I like Elliot and Benjamin, not a big fan of Oscar or George.  I have a lot of friends named Adam...but don't know many kids with the name...so maybe it should start making a comeback??

  • Benjamin is our boy name so I like that. I really like Vivian too. We love nicknames. You have nicknames with those.
  • Benjamin and Elise :)

William and George sound a little too "royal family" to me.

Oscar will always remind me of "Oscar the grouch."

    I love "Noah" and "Samuel."

Of the girl names, my favorites are Harper, Elise, and Evelyn (nn Evie), and I feel neutral about the rest.
  • Nice list! I think my favorite boy name on your list is Elliot (it's at the top of our list for a boy or a girl), but I also really like Oscar, and the possible nickname Ozzy. For the girls, I like Ruby and Amelia.

  • I know, I'm mostly a lurker, but I like all your name choices! :) Had to speak up on this one cause my little boy is Elliott and we love it.  It is unique enough that there's not to many of them, but common enough that most people have at least heard of it.
  • Benjamin and Evelyn are my two favorites!
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • i like both of your lists.  benjamin, elliot, and oscar are my favorites from your boy list, and amelia, evelyn, and vivian are my favorites from your girl list.  good, classic names.

  • Love the name Elliot! the name I don't really like on the list is Victoria. Mostly because even if you want  to call her "Tori" (which is cute), there will still be people that call her Vicky (which is awful/just not my favorite).
  • Boy- William, Noah, Samuel, Benjamin, Adam, Oscar, George, Elliot

I like Adam the best of the boys list- The rest are all way over used or NMS (Oscar, Elliot, George).

Girl- Amelia, Arianna, Harper, Scarlett, Elise, Evelyn, Victoria, Vivian, Ruby

Evelyn used to be my #1 girls name circa 2001 when Pearl Harbor came out. Since then, 50000000000000 people I know have used that name. Still it is a beautiful name. My favorite is Victoria- but I'm not a fan of shortening names and I think it'd be hard to keep her from being called Vicki or Tori.

So my votes are Adam & Elise :)

Thanks for all your thoughts ladies!

Sorry, I never responded.  Turns out a rainy afternoon leads to water in your basement.

I'm glad you like most of my names.   I like them too.   My son's name is Michael so we need to go with something that will work with his name.

My husband likes Rosalyn with a nickname of Roz.  I pretty much hate it.  So, we will see what happens.

  • Late to the game.  I fled the house today because we have no A/C...  So catching up now...

Amelia is DD's name, so obviously I LOVE it.  Vivian is our pick if 2.0 is a girl.  And I LOVE Harper (the English major in me loves Harper Lee, author of TKAMB), but DH isn't on board with that.

As far as boys, Oscar is probably my least favorite, but I'd be fine with all the others.  haha.

  • I love the name Harper, but its our prime minister's last name and its kind of wrecked it for me :(. Love Benjamin.
  • I have a Benjamin! Not only is it cool and classic, I've never met a Ben I didn't like. Mine, of course, is my favorite of all time.
  • Victoria is fav!

    Boy-
William- I love this name (Will is a cute nn) it's also my DS's middle name, however it's Extremely popular (#5 in 2013) so if you are going for original this is not the name for you haha
Noah- was literally the number one name of 2013
    Samuel- nms
    Benjamin- also nms
    Adam- I know like 50 Adam's
    Oscar- the Grouch?
George-the meaning is "farmer" which i like! :)
Elliot- nms because it does not have a good short form or nn

    Girl-
    Amelia- very popular
    Arianna- sounds too prissy
    Harper- nms
    Scarlett- it's ok
Elise- I like this name but I know a lot of ppl don't know how to say it properly but if you think she could live with ppl calling her Elsie then go for it haha
    Evelyn- one of my favs
Victoria- snobby sounding and Vicki is the opposite
    Vivian- also snobby sounding
Ruby- cute but strange if she's not a redhead

Meh, i'm not too concerned with popularity.   My son's name is Michael.  LOL which is a family name as well as super popular.

Amelia, William, and Oscar are all family names.

Ruby is nice, and chances are it would be a red head since DH, LO and I are all red heads.

I hope to have the names picked out before hand.  We will find out the sex so once we know that, it will be a little easier to narrow it down.  RIght now I am just looking around and seeing what names I like.  It's hard after being a teacher, there are a LOT of names I don't like because of various students I've had. hahaha

Elliot is on our list for a girl too! I love it!

  • I've been thinking Harper if mine's a girl! :)
  • Love Ruby and Elliot
