For MIL's 70th and FIL's 75th birthdays next month, the whole fam-damily is going on a Disney cruise (MIL's choice) My confession- I'm dreading traveling with and staying in cabins with a 3 year old and 1 year old. Also, what if they get seasick? H has a tendency towards seasickness which MIL has apparently forgotten. Confession part two: we are even taking a babysitter so I feel like even more of a brat for not being super excited. I mean, I know it will (hopefully) be fun for the kids but I'm anticipating meltdowns and exhaustion all around.
@chicagobroad26 talk to me about taking a sitter on vacation... Are you paying them or just paying for them to go on vacation? I assume they'll be sleeping in a different cabin than you? We've talked about doing this but cannot figure out the logistics.
Yep, she has a separate cabin. Obviously we are paying for her trip plus a daily rate (much reduced from her usually hourly rate).
Helen has suddenly started to get a wee by aggressive with her big brother. Today she kept hitting him in the face and laughing. Confession: I didn't intervene until my mom commented on it... I figure girlfriend has put up with 14 months of abuse from him and likely will have plenty more in the future, so she should learn to stick up for herself.
And apparently I should starting waxing my whole damn legs. I wore a skirt today and missed a hair shaving somewhere on my inner thigh that keeps poking me. It's driving me nucking futs.
And I am so mad at myself for a proof reading fail. I ordered a Stich Fix a million years ago for first available delivery date (yesterday). I used my business address since I don't like boxes left unattended on our front step all day... Except I put in our home zip code. Doh. So FedEx shuffled it between stations and it didn't get delivered yet. Sadsies.
My friends have a 2 year old who still takes a bottle. I confess I judged, a lot. And now I'm realizing my almost 15 month has no interest in giving up her bottle. Ugh.

My confession is I am jealous of @ChicagoBroad26 cruise and wishes she would take me instead of the babysitter. I would work for free.
Ack! I know I'm a brat. To be fair...the last time we took Ava on a flight she literally (and I mean literally) threw a five hour tantrum.
I decided I wasn't going to go to my own cousin's wedding last week! Paying $800 per ticket to take a 5 hour flight to Iowa and stay in a hotel room with all three kids sounded like the worst thing I could think of. So I said we were so sorry but just couldn't afford it even though we could. I'm so selfish!
Maybe I'm a terrible person, but I wouldn't even consider forking over that kind of money and time for a cousin's wedding unless we were super close. But maybe that's because I'm from a huge Irish Catholic family with about 3951 cousins. So I'd be broke if I went to every wedding and shower and such. Don't feel selfish.
I'm going to a bachelorette pool party tomorrow and will be wearing a monokini. Well I wore a corset today under my blouse in the hopes that i'll lose even a little of this belly fat. I don't want look like a bag of cats fighting to break out the spandex so i'm desperate.

So at a pool party a few weeks ago my close friend told me she is still nursing her 2 1/2 year old daughter. That it is mostly at bedtime. My confession is that I think that's too old and I was a little judgey!

Ive decided that Im ok with it if its in your own home before bedtime. But when the kid walks up and pulls down/up mommy's shirt in public without asking, I start judging. (I once witnessed this on the sidewalk just outside the door of my old job. Im good with NIP, I have done it, but when you need to kneel down on the sidewalk because 2.5 year old cant wait 5 minutes...).
See to me the issue there is the bad manners / habits of the kid, not really about nursing or NIP.

Before I had kids I would have been judge-y about that, too. Now, I think it's totally fine and healthy.
My confessions: Lexi leaked in the MOTN and I changed her and put her back in the crib at the other end (without changing the sheets). I am soo tired of being up so much at night
I already confessed I have an addiction to brownie mix.... Well now Lexi knows what I am doing and runs over with her finger out so she can have a taste too
Babies are made to breastfeed much longer than society approves of. The average age for weaning in the US is 6mo-1year. The average age world wide is 4-7 YEARS old. The US is very close minded. I see nothing wrong with nursing your toddler. And in those unfortunately weird situations take the moment to teach what breast are for (vs sexualizing them as society does). I do think it is weird when your kindergartener comes home from school to nurse. But to each their own and the BFing relationship is between the mother and child, not me.
I bought a king-size Twix at the grocery store and ate the whole thing by myself on the way home. I wish I had bought two because it was that good. Oh well.
I love tater tot hotdish. And tater tots in any form really.
Also, it purposely put Will to bed an hour and a half later than normal, knowing full well how much wine I would drink tonight. Hopefully he will sleep in now.

That always backfires on me. Always. Kids to bed later = kids up earlier in the ChicagoBroad household.
One of my molars that I cracked started hurting this entire week. Tonight it has been so bad that I made an appointment online so I probably won't hear from them until Monday, my confession is that I honestly contemplated doing what Tom Hanks did to his tooth in Cast Away.
*tired of the quote tree*
Again, its not the nursing part, its the manners taught to the kids about it.
While I'm sure it was awkward for you as a high schooler, I don't think it's actually bad manners for a kid to be curious and ask questions about breastfeeding. That's what boobs are there for... What's so wrong with kids understanding that? Also, kids ask tons of questions about everything. When I was 24 and nannying, the kid asked me why I wasn't married yet. I wasn't offended... Kids are still learning social protocols and they are naturally curious.
Also, if anyone has a problem with me nursing my 15-month-old, I think that reflects poorly on them, not me. I am just a mom taking care of my kid. Eta - not referring to Mrandmrsk, just in general.

Ugh, sorry @arschm02. That's the worst. Here's hoping for a long nap!
ALWAYS backfires in this household as well -- am now a confirmed believer that "sleep begets sleep" and the quicker I get him to bet at the first sign of being tired, the better he sleeps.

I'm wearing a skirt today, and didn't shave my legs at all.
At least it's a long skirt.
I'm gross.
