mild breathlessness

So I'm now 15w 3d along and seriously am feeling out of shape already. I mainly get breathless when going upstairs, which is not at a sprint by the way. I'm taking it as easy as I possibly can but I am amazed that this is happening so soon. I've only gained 5 or 6 lbs. so far. I used to be in such good shape. Does anyone know whether its normal to lose your breath once in a while at this early stage? I'm not dying or anything but I definitely am feeling it! Thanks.
Married my best friend 7/2/11 - Furbaby born 7/9/11 and brought into our home 9/1/11

BFP#1:   2/2/13 ~ exact m/c date unknown but around 3/20 at 10 weeks ~ diagnosed with PMP ~ D&C on 4/5 ~ TTA for at least 1 year due to PMP ~ cleared to TTC 1/14

BFP#2:   2/7/14 ~ m/c 2/20/14 ~ possibly due to chemical pregnancy ~ TG no D&C is needed

Surprise BFP#3:  4/4/14 ~ super duper extra happy (and nervous) about this one - EDD 12/9/14!!!

John Joseph was born on 12/12/14 at 7 lbs. 11 oz.  He is the most beautiful rainbow baby we could have wished for!

It is normal. If I remember right, it has something to do with our increased blood volume, but don't quote me (this is my third LO in three years so I haven't reread the pregnancy books this time).
  • Mild... They call me hurricane lol I'm so short of breath it's crazy and it's only going to get worse as time goes on.
  • at 8 weeks I began struggling.  my doctors were so concerned about it that they ran an EKG and an echocardiagram and both came back normal, which put everyone at ease.  My obgyn prescribed an inhaler for me but it doesn't do much to help so I rarely use it.   Guess I'm going to have to just get used to this!
  • I've been feeling this for a while and I'm slender/ in decent shape. When I researched this I found that it's due to all of the extra blood in your body for baby. Therefore your body pumps more blood then usual when doing simple cardio activities such as climbing stairs. Makes you feel awfully silly to be huffing and puffing over nothing, huh?!
