DD1 was a winter baby, so by the time summer rolled around, we could slather her up in sunscreen. Since it isn't recommended until 6 mo or older, we need to come up with a different approach this time around. The car seat canopies seem really thick to me, like they would get very hot inside very easily. If you use one or know someone who does, how hot does it get inside on a hot day? Could I get away with strapping (kind of like a tent) a receiving blanket onto the carseat or would that be more trouble than it's worth. Our infant stroller will be the snap n go type where they stay in the carseat carriers (yes they. It's twins thud time around). TIA.

I bought a car seat cover that had SPF built in. It had a screen and then you pull the spf layer over that. It allowed air in.
It is very similar to this one but I paid much less:

For the rare times when the blanket would really catch the breeze, can use hair clips, or put a little bit of the hook part of a onesided sticky velcro strip on the exterior edge of the hood & they'll hold the blanket without completly mangling it.
Congratulations on your additions.
