We have it and love it. We stream mainly through our phones and have very rarely had connectivity issues. I feel like more companies are creating apps that work with it, so it may only be a matter of time before there are more that you're interested in.
like I curse at it frequently... because our router has to be adjusted to one setting to allow the iPads ot stream upstair in our bedrooms at a reasonable speed... but that same setting doesn't recognize the Chromecast.
It doesn't have any problem streaming from our phones over Wifi though.
So is this a "it's a piece of junk" review, or a "It has it's annoyances but it's worth $35"?
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
This might be worth a look if you want more app availability. It's a little more expensive, but I probably would have bought this instead had I known about it.
It is worth $35, but I wouldn't pay $50 for it honestly. I have had so many problems with it dropping the connection. I stream off my chromebook and I figured they would work well together, but no. It's a headache and I always sit there wondering if I want to even bother.
For $35 it's a pretty good deal. I've had one since it first came out. Works best with chrome and Android deceives. It works ok with Apple but sometimes has issues. I have a Tobisha tablet that I access my wireless hard drive through that has my movies on it and the cast it to the TV. It works great with Netflix and YouTube. I cast more things from my phone than from my computer or iPad.
Re: Anyone have Google Chromecast?
And I really wish it was compatible with Amazon streaming.

It would be useful for me to be able to just cast pictures from my phone onto various TVs when I visit relatives.
