So, it finally happened. The first REAL idiotic thing someone has said to me during pregnancy. I told my coworkers this week because I told my boss and I knew he'd tell a few others and word would spread. Anyway. So today one of my male coworkers goes "So, I guess you MAY be having a baby". I go "Uhm, yes, we ARE having a baby in December" and he says "Well, you don't know that. Lots of things can still go wrong this early". WTF?!?! Who says that???

    DHs best friend said that to us when we told him... He's like "well congrats you two! You know if everything works out.... I heard a high percentage of people lose there babies early.. Don't get too excited !" .... I have never slammed a door so hard before.

    That defiantly rewards him with a complaint with HR. I seriously would of turned and said 'to bad your mum didn't have that luck' but I lose all tact or respect with such brazen troglodytes like him.

    That is seriously messed up!!
    Married my best friend 7/2/11 - Furbaby born 7/9/11 and brought into our home 9/1/11

    BFP#1:   2/2/13 ~ exact m/c date unknown but around 3/20 at 10 weeks ~ diagnosed with PMP ~ D&C on 4/5 ~ TTA for at least 1 year due to PMP ~ cleared to TTC 1/14

    BFP#2:   2/7/14 ~ m/c 2/20/14 ~ possibly due to chemical pregnancy ~ TG no D&C is needed 

    Surprise BFP#3:  4/4/14 ~ super duper extra happy (and nervous) about this one - EDD 12/9/14!!!

    John Joseph was born on 12/12/14 at 7 lbs. 11 oz.  He is the most beautiful rainbow baby we could have wished for!

    I need to figure out how to incorporate this into my everyday language. And I had to google troglodyte after I decided this phrase was awesome.

    That's horrific. I am so sorry he said that to you. Clearly he has never actually known anyone to lose their baby. That's just so cruel. What if something had happened!? Would he have thrown out an "I told you so"? Ugh. Clearly you don't need him in your life.

    You're the best! Seriously. I'm going to have to do this to him before he leaves. Thankfully for me this douche will no longer be working here in two weeks. Everybody, and I mean, EVERYBODY at work hates him.

    Man, yeah.  That dude deserves to be punched.

    Our neighbor told my husband "congrats on ruining your life" the other night. He said it in a 'joking' manner but dude... just... not funny. I wouldn't even find that very funny if a close friend said it to my husband as a clear joke, but esp. not from a neighbor we're just casually friendly with!

    The only person who has said something rude to me is my sister (no kids of her own yet), and she's in HR! My friend showed me a neat article on clever comebacks and comments while pregnant. Made me feel better after reading.

    I wouldn't be super shocked about that coming from a 6yo. He may have had a loss in his family (mother, aunt, whatever). We lost our daughter at 15weeks, and my son knew about it, of course. When we told him I was pregnant this time he said "I hope this one doesn't go to heaven, because you will be really sad" He is 6 as well.

    I think its just hard for kids to understand why we are upset about something that they cant perceive as real yet, but they know we will be sad if something happens.
