Lush Products

I'm going to blow this board up with another question. Why can't I find Lush products in the Skin Deep database? I know some products contain parabens, but overall I think they're pretty safe. Yay or nay?

Re: Lush Products

  • I have also wondered that! I don't use them because of the paraben issue. I used to be the world's biggest Lush junkie! I'm talking ALL my skincare, hair care, everything. I ended up finding so many alternative brands that work just as well without adding the ingredients I want to avoid, so for the most part I've stopped using Lush. I'll still pick up a fresh face mask or a bath bomb here and there, though.

  • Lush is full of chemicals (sulfates, parabens, fragrances, glycols etc). There is nothing natural about them unfortunately. I used to use soooo many of their products but after reading labels I stopped years ago.
I even asked if they had products without parabens and most employees don't know what parabens are and one even tried to tell me all their preservatives are "food-grade" aka. edible. Which is highly unlikely!

  • The staff tries to tell me their parabens are food-grade and come from blueberries (?). I use them from time to time but I don't use them on a frequent basis. There are a couple of the face masks that I like and yes I still indulge in the bubble bars or bath bombs sometimes. But they certainly are not as natural as I'd prefer.

They never claim to be close to natural. I mean, they make glitter bath bombs...its just a fun, off-beat brand. I cant even walk into their stores, the smell is way too overpowering!
  • There is nothing natural about them they are full of crap and their marketing is very good to make you think they are all natural and organic.

  • You can look up the ingredients on the EWG website.  There are only a few products that I used to use from them that are actually chemical-free.  SAD!

i used to work for them - if you're looking for organic, natural alternatives - look elsewhere ;)

i certainly miss some of their products, but i've given up using them due to a) expense and b) yuckies in them!
