I am starting to shop around for a doppler.  I'd love recommendations for which one you all like the best (and why).  I'm just shy of 7 weeks along, so not in a big hurry.  Oh, and when did you hear HBs on your doppler for the first time (twins here!)?

    I got Sonoline B (3 mhz wand) in Ebay for 40$ and it is amazing. I know other pgalers have it too. I would recommend it any time. We heard it for first time at 15 weeks. My doctor tried at 14w and couldn't find it (I ended having a u/s because I was having a panic attack). I had anterior placenta and obviously that didn't help :)  I heard of people finding it as soon as 11 weeks but I wouldn't worry if you don't find so soon. Must be so exciting expecting twins! Congrats!

    Yep, I've got a sonoline b 3mhz want doppler.  I think mine was about $53.  Definitely worth it in my opinion.  It comes with a tiny tube of gel but when that runs out (and it will ;) ) you can use regular aloe vera.

    In terms of when I used it, I made myself wait to order it until after my NT scan.  When that went great, I placed the order and used it at 12 weeks.  It's hard to find even then, it's really low and I had to push quite a bit get it to pick up the hb, but it has since become much easier to find.  GL and happy doppler shopping!

    Sonoline B here too!! Got it on eBay. Don't buy ultrasound gel..... Go to Walmart and buy the $3 gigantic bottle of green aloe!! The bottle I bought is still 1/4 way full and I bought it at 10 weeks and basically used it everyday in the beginning. I first heard the hb at 10 weeks, nothing at 11, and then daily at 12w!!! Good luck!!

    Perhaps ask the multiples group when they were able to hear the twins on the doppler, I'd imagine it's earlier then with a singelton!

    I have the HIBebe doppler. Love it. I've had it since 2009. First found the heartbeat with my babies (singleton pregnancies) at 11 weeks. I ordered mine through amazon and it came with 2 bottles of ultrasound gel.

    @DenaMaree you were right.  Looks like the average over there is between 9 and 10 weeks.  Thanks for all the help ladies!  Placing an order soon!

    Sonoline B is awesome!! I have the 3mhz one and honestly it has saved my sanity. Now that I feel movement I don't need it as much but for those first few months it's a huge help. I found his heartbeat as early as 9 weeks which I know isn't typical and I have an anterior placenta. Aloe vera gel works great.

    Sonoline B here as well.  They made a mistake when I ordered it and sent me the 2mhz wand (I ended up getting money back :) ).  Honestly, it works just fine.  I found the HB around 10/11 weeks.  My OB couldn't find it on his at the doctor's office at 12 weeks, so I was really glad I had at least heard it myself before that or I would have been freaking out!  

    Like the other ladies suggested, just use aloe vera gel, and go slowly.  It can be super hard to find, and you will read that some people suggest using it on a full bladder, but try it with both.  I was never able to find a h/b with a full bladder, and it would only ever appear after I emptied.

    I ended up renting mine from www.heartbeatsathome.com.  They rent hospital-grade Dopplers.  The more months you rent it, the cheaper the monthly price.  As everyone has said, you have to be patient and move the wand very slowly.  I have been able to find LO's heartbeat pretty much in the same area on my left side since 12w.  Good luck!
