Is there a 10 mo sleep regression?

He is sleeping like crap. We can only get him in the crib for the initial put down. That lasts till about midnight. Then all hell breaks loose.

So I end up with M in the guest room. But he wants to nurse all night. Like unlatching him causes a huge meltdown.

I'm tired and my nipples hurt. Anyone else's kid doing this?

I honestly think there is an Every Month Sleep Regression.

Dude I feel ya. That's for sure.

  • I've posted about it before but the worst sleep period- by far- for DD1 was 11-13 months. Made the newborn phase seem easy peasy. I was straight up deliriously tired, to the point where I didn't feel safe driving a car. (So I wouldn't.)

I believe it was related to gross motor milestones. She didn't start walking until 15 months, but at 11-13 months is when she really got the whole mobility thing down.

@BelhurstBride‌ so what your saying is that I need a night nanny? X_X
  • Our life is a sleep regression. If its due to developmental delays that's why. It seems LO is constantly learning something. He seems to be getting walking down and we got one 3 hour stretch last night. 4 hours straight is best for us. And if its not a milestone it's teeth, of its not teeth it's a growth spurt if its not a growth spurt it's just wanting mommy.... Sorry guess this could have gone in the rants post. I am truly happy for our three hour stretch last night though :D

  • Hopefully your LO will figure it out sooner than DD1 managed to!

I was just getting used to the once a night short wake ups. This better pass quickly.

DD is on a run with 8 hours of sleep a night... I'm not saying a stretch of 8 hours, a total 8! I'm feeling physically ill with exhaustion :-(
  • sorry you're dealing with this, but there better fucking not be a 10 month regression, we just got things figured out.

Right? This is me thinking about a 10 month regression: image
  • I'm in the same boat. LO is waking herself up by standing up and falling over in her sleep. and since we bed share no one is getting much sleep

Holy shit. M might be doing that. I do notice when I hafta bed share with him he sits up, looks around, then plops down. I kinda thought he was getting comfortable, but it maybe him doing it in his sleep--then waking himself up.

Crap. It took him forever not to wake up when he rolled in his sleep. Ugh!

  • This thread was sooooo helpful! I'm a ftm so tthere's a lot to learn still.. but this could explain her short naps and moody ness
  • So, there is a chance my awake every hour, screaming like a banshee, up for the day at 4am 10 month old might be normal and going through a phase?! Oh, please let it be so.
  • This is us. She used to STTN, then just occasionally with short wake ups, then longer wake ups, and now it is just a few hours in the crib, then sleeping with us and thrashing around and nursing all night. Then last night even that wasn't working for her. She wanted to be held all night. But only by me while I was standing. My sitting or lying down was not appreciated. Ugh!!!

My preemie is pretty close to 10 months adjusted and man does she fit this mold!!!  I just had my 5th night in a row of about 4.5 hours of sleep...somebody fix her!!!!!!  ;-)

Edit for more info:  as much as I don't want her to start walking (makes me sad how quickly a year has gone), I need her brain to slow down and just let her sleep at night. She's walking with her walker...so I think her brain is all over the place.  Babies have it rough!
