Because THIS is what I want for dinner...

Re: WFD?

  • Those quite clearly are missing chocolate in some form.

We're having pasta with cherry tomatoes and corn.

  • PSA: Outback Steakhouse is giving free appetizers with purchase when you say "Tonight Show" (some sort of promotion from Jimmy Fallon).  So if you like bloomin' onions (who doesn't?) tonight's a great night to take advantage.

We will be dining at Outback tonight :)

    Leftovers.
People always putting down leftovers. I love leftovers. All the awesome and none of the prep or clean up. Yes please.
My UO - about 80% of my leftovers go uneaten.  C and I just don't like it.  I often package them up and give them to friends and colleagues.  For C, it's an issue of being paranoid the food will go bad (ridiculous, but she won't eat it).  For me, I get sick of eating the same thing and I think I'll eat it eventually but... nope.

I will sometimes freeze leftovers in lunch containers so those nights I don't make enough, DH still has lunch the next day. I get mad when food goes bad before it gets eaten. Typically, Friday night is leftover night.

We're currently staying with my aunt and that's got to be my favorite thing about her family. She, and her kids, pretty much never eat leftovers so I get all of them. So much easier than having to actually find lunch the next day! Plus I just feel bad about throwing out food. I grew up way too poor to be comfortable with that. If it's not spoiled, I will likely find a way to use it.

  • Baked chicken and salad, I need a lighter meal after all of the emotional binge eating I've done recently. I feel like I put on weight before I've even gotten pregnant.

I should have specified - 80% of the leftovers go uneaten by US (I'll eat 20% of the food I make later).  The rest goes to everyone else.  I have several friends who just won't cook and have grown to depend on me feeding them once a week.  Makes me sick to throw anything out, though.

I'm just one of those excessive cookers.  I make way too much of any given dish.  A habit I learned from my mom.  She always taught me better too much than not enough.

  • Microwave dinner...H is out of town.  Oh...and, more importantly, a bottle of wine!

  • We're going out. A new Mexican place opened about a month ago and whenever we try to go (weekends) there is always an hour wait (not doable with a 2 and a 4 year old in tow). Have talked to several friends who have been. They all went early on a weeknight and said there was no wait. So, we are going to give that a try again tonight. If there's still a crazy wait we will go to our favorite pizza/pasta place instead. So, win-win.
