Well, I'm 11DPIUI and got a BFP this morning. But then I got a beta drawn and it's 4. With my CP it was 3 at 12dpiui. So I'm expecting this to end the same. I really hate that we are doing this again.

Last time this happened, what dpo did you start your next cycle? I had the same thing happen last month where I got the bfp's three days in a row, but then started my period on 11dpo. Looking back, I kind of wish I hadn't tested so early. I wouldn't have know and it wouldn't have hurt so much. Of course, I would have wondered why I was having such a strange period! It was really long and really painful. But I would have at least skipped the heartache.

I'd also like to know what HPT you're using because I've never heard of a test that picks up a beta of 4. Also anything under 5 is definitely considered not pregnant and most women have a beta of 5 and sometimes higher naturally right before their period. I'm not trying to be mean but I would think you doctor would tell you that so that you don't think you're pregnant because you got a beta that is more then 0. Also, are you getting positive tests or evap lines? Sorry, this is just all really confusing to me!

Yea, anything under 5 is considered negative. I'm not sure why they are even telling you you are pregnant? I would be really upset, there are guidelines for a reason- I agree it's causing a lot of unecessary heartache

^^well, and for my own clarification, does anyone know what counts as "actually pregnant" in terms of the beta #s? I have heard different things. 5 always seems to be a threshold number, but I have heard that even above 5 is iffy until a certain point. I don't have experience with betas so I'm going off of what I've heard elsewhere. Does anyone have some insight? Sorry to ask in this post but it came to mind.

My doc told me I was not pg with my beta of 7. That day I got four +hpts. One of which was a digi. Of course I went on to have a nice ectopic so there's that. I guess I'm just annoyed for you that you keep having these false positives. (That's the only thing I can come up with... Because technical you aren't even "maybe" pg until beta is over 5.)

Anything over 5, is considered a "Maybe pregnant" you're not considered officially pregnant until it's over 25.

Like @jodee37 said, my first ectopic the first beta came back at 7 and they did consider that tentatively pregnant, but they were open about it being obviously ominous.

An hCG level of less than 5mIU/ml is considered negative for pregnancy, and anything above 25mIU/ml is considered positive for pregnancy.

Ok, let me try to answer all the questions

The clear + are with dollar tree. Faint (iffy) lines on FRER. I had them last time when my beta was 3-6, and then then got noticeably lighter as it dropped.

Last time it started at a 3 at 12dpo, but they tested again because I had had a positive digi (still no idea wtf on that one!) they did tell me it was negative, but we tested again, and it was up to 4. Because it went up, they told me that there was an embryo, but that it was likely not viable. It made it up to 6, and based on when the lines started getting darker, maybe a little past that before going down.

I haven't talked to my RE, I got he number from the lab after they were closed.

I do have low AMH, an MTHFR mutation, and my RPL panel had another section that came back "borderline." So yes, we do think there is an egg quality issue. We said if we had another documented CP (we think there may have been some I didn't get betas for before the RE) that we would go to IVF with PGD.

Now, my only follicle was also 31mm, and I have seen inconclusive info that that can cause egg quality/loss issues. So I'm not sure what we will do.

Oh, and I've talked to an HTP manufacturer (because a +digi with a beta of 3 - WTF?!?) and they said the published number they pick up is their guarantee. They know that their least sensitive test will pick up that beta. But any given test could be more sensitive.

Wow- I'm impressed your lab will tell you results! I worked in one awhile back and the hospital policy was that the lab was not allowed to give results to patients. The doctors/nurses were supposed to do that. Because of that, I would have never thought to call a lab directly. Did they give you a hard time about it or did they just give you your numbers?

Listen, last time everyone was really nice about the insanity- but you really have to understand- UNDER 25 IS NOT PREGNANT. ANY DOCTOR TELLING YOU ARE PREGNANT WITH A BETA UNDER 5 SHOULD BE SUED FOR MEDICAL MALPRACTICE. I know we have had our differences, but your insistances on your being pregnant when this is just about certainly a surge before period makes you seem looney toons and is why I haven't put you back on the KUSMO, it is a slap in the face for women who see Evaps that you continually treat these non pregnancies as losses and people have to stare at the insanity on your siggy (unless they are spared through mobile). In your heart it may truly feel like this is a loss, but I am not trying to be mean when I clarify- this pain is the loss of another month of trying, not a baby. Everyone above me have said the same thing- just very nicely- quoting facts and giving experiences of ACTUAL LOSS- like the ectopics, which mine started of at 5- the only time a doctor will tell you a beta OVER 5 is in the same sentence explaining it will be ectopic or loss. Under that they won't say anything BECAUSE IT IS CONSIDERED NORMAL LEVELS. That is why the range of HCG to actually be determined pregnant- 25 or more. I do not wish you any pain, but I think you need to recognize actual pregnancies and I know you are working w a counseler,this is something you might want to talk to them about- it isn't healthy. You are truly hurting yourself more by doing this to yourself. I wish you luck and help, but I also hope you understand the betas more in the future better from what you want it to be.

WTF- I am sorry you have to continue to go through this, I'm sorry we all have to go through this, it's not f-ing fair. My Dr doesn't even give me the beta # under 25- they just say you are not pregnant. And dang for those tests being so sensitive.

It's not them. We are out of state on vacation, and the one lab that will take an order from and out of state doc has no labs open on the weekend.
