Are heartbeat apps bogus?

I was just curious if anyone has tried downloading a fetal heartbeat app? Was it worth the $5 or were you fooled?? So tempted to download one but I'm skeptical. What were your experiences?

    What's it supposed to do? "hear" the heart beat? I've never heard of these.

    Yes. Supposedly, you lay the phone on your belly and hear the heartbeat. Even as I'm describing it, it sounds ridiculous!! I'm just curious if anyone's had success with it. I don't want to waste the 5 bucks

    Even if it does work, it is so hard to find the heart beat. You will only cause yourself more stress.

    I asked a few friends about this- one girl said she only ever got a heartbeat during 3rd tri and it was still hit or miss.

    If this is an app for your phone you won't hear anything until mid to late 3rd trimester.
