Pregnant after a Loss

Stalking my online medical record...

I had bloodwork done yesterday to confirm if my HCG is rising appropriately.  After the first test on Monday, I found that results were posted by 10:30pm that same night (and I didn't get the call until about 3pm the following day). So now, I'm that neurotic lady who is checking my online chart every 10 minutes to see if my new results are posted.

You'd think with the work I have on my plate today, it would help distract me from this, but instead I find it hard to get my work done.  *sigh*

Re: Stalking my online medical record...

  • ((HUGS))  Waiting for those results is torture.  How many hours after the initial draw were your results posted?  Maybe you can try to wait at least that long before you expect to see anything pop up?  More ((hugs)) because the wait sucks so bad.

I do that too! My biggest problem is that my work is on the same EMR system so all I have to do is keep my chart on my patient list and check it every 5 seconds. I'm really bad! LOL!

I hope you get great results very soon!

  • @MrsTuna08 The results were posted within 9 hours of the test the first time, and now we are going on 22 hours for the second test.  I'm sure it's all based on how backed up they are with things, but now it's got me wondering...are the results bad?  Did they screw up the sample? (I didn't see her put it in the spinner like last time)...

@Mom2anAngel2 so jealous that you don't have to login in everytime!

@mmheartspb not being able to check online may be a blessing in disguise! Now I have a whole different set of expectations than just waiting for the call.  Both stink though!

It is so easy to second guess everything and put doubt in your head, but I assure you that the results being posted or not posted has nothing to do with the outcome. It is usually just lab delay or system transfer delay. The other day I was waiting for the results of a patient's CBC (put in as STAT) and it took 4 hours for the system to report the results. I had to call the lab and verbally got the results in 10 minutes. Sometime technology just does not help you out.

I do hope the show up soon for you.

    All ALers welcome!
  • It is nearly impossible to not check constantly when you have that online access! I try and give myself "rules" like I can only check on the hour and at half past.

Congrats on the twins @katecorum!  I would love to have twins, but will just be incredibly happy to have one healthy baby!
