Belly Bandit

Belly bandit (and similar postpartum wraps):

Are they worth it? Anyone tried them before?

I had a Belly Bandit.  It didn't make things worse, but I can't say that I morphed into a thin person.  I did like the post c-section support it provided.

This is the one I'm getting, https://www.bellefit.com/ They make both corsets and girdles, with or without a zipper. I've heard good things about it, and love that there's no bulky Velcro.

  • I'm on the fence. Last time around I HATED the feeling that my insides were all flopping around with all that extra room all of a sudden. But I'm also cheap and hate spending money on something for such a limited useful time frame. I've heard good things...I'll probably look for one second hand.

I'm curious too about the belly bandit. I consider it kinda pricey and I'm reluctant to spend money on something like that but if it works then I'd like to try it out.

Agreed!  If I knew it would get me back into my jeans quicker, then I'd spend the money.  But, if they were a guarantee...wouldn't more people use one?

Of course, I imagine me sitting around all flabby, regretting being such a cheap person!

I'd say they helped me get in a pair of jeans pretty fast.  Not the pp jeans I was wearing when I got my BFP, but yes a pair of jeans.

Said jeans are now hanging in my closet as Round 1 Fat Pants.

  • I went the spanx route. My waist shrank and had to get a size smaller pants every 3 months or so. I also gained 55 lbs so it took a while to lose the weight. I also liked it stopped me from having a muffin top.

  • I was thinking I'll probably continue to wear my belly band. I'm still uses that everyday with my PP pants. I imagine its not as tight but will do the trick

@weeklyplanner - My personal experience is that Spanx Assets which is sold by Target is not as good as the real Spanx.  I have the Higher Power shaper that I bought in 2007 and it still works great.  The Assets line is cheaper but I find that the sizing is off and it does not suck everything in as well.

There are so many to choose from that come up just to under your boobs so you wouldn't need to worry about adjusting anything in that area.  That's what I would go for rather than any of the shaping camis.

Can you recommend a spanx that is good for nursing?  I've never owned spanx, but I hear the target brand is just as good and more affordable.  But, I would need something with easy boob access!

I did the huge granny panty type. They go up to the bottom of your boobs and have separate straps where you can attach them to your bra to keep it up. I used the asset brand (target's) before but never for the large undies. Kohls has them in sale every once in a while, so I would just keep an eye out.

  • I used the belly bandit last time for 8 weeks straight, the only time I took it off was to shower or clean it. I hated having it off because I felt more secure wearing it. My skin felt really loose for the first several weeks so I was more comfortable with it on. I would say it definitely helped shrink everything down. The only draw back was it was pretty bulky, so I wore baggy tshirts with it on or a zip up hoody if I was going out in public because it did show under my clothes. For this reason I'm thinking about getting the bellyfit this time around as well because it looks like it is a little more seamless.
Also, to the girls getting theirs second hand, my did stretch some so you might want to find out how long the person used it. I ended up throwing mine away after the 8 weeks.
