leakage after membrane sweep

ok, need opinions here. So I am at 40 weeks today, had my membranes swept and when I got up off the table there was alot of what looked like water, however I just wrote it off as the leakage she said I would have. Then I went out for lunch and when I was about to get in my car I felt  a gush and liquid was trickling down my legs, my undies and pad were soaked and as I was standing there I kept feeling little gushes. Well the fluid was brown tinged and when I got home my pad was bloody but the rest of my undies were wet (sorry tmi). Anyway I assumed this was my water breaking but  as I waited for the doctor to call me back I didn't have any more watery leakage just bloody mucus. THe nurse said to just wait and see if I keep leaking more then to call back. Is it normal to just have a lot of leakage after a membrane sweep and if it was my water is it possible that it could stop trickling and still be my water?

    I would say that was your water breaking...the exact same situation just happened to a friend (her baby is one week old tmw). With the fluid being brown it could be meconium. You need to go to L&D for a swab which will confirm if it is amniotic fluid. My friend & her baby ended up getting an infection and an emergency c-section because it went on too long (drs fault not hers). Go get checked out, it's not worth the risk!!

    Mar 6/14. Heard HB (130bpm) via Doppler @ 24w3d

    Try laying down, it will let the baby move up a bit, and see if your still leaking when you stand again... Sometimes babies head acts as a plug... But i would also be maybe considering a trip in just to be sure... I would hate the waiting and not knowing... Good luck!

    Side note: i had my membranes striped 4 times with my son, and never had any leaking... So thats a new one to me...

    Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses....
    All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!

    ok thanks, I think im going to call again and go in, I would feel stupid if its not and then they send me home but on the other hand I don't want to risk babies health just on the basis of feeling stupid for going in! I thought it was a lot too for having membranes swept!

    could a membrane sweep result in the mucus plug coming out and that then making it look brown?
