Success after IF

PCOS Got pregnant ?

Hi Ladies,

I hav PCOS and irregular periods since my first one. I am under treatment to get pregnant from past 2 years and no BFP yet.

Recently my IUI failed.  :( ..I will soon be trying IVF after 2 more cycles of IUI.

So now i started to think do i stand a chance to get my BFP.

  • Thank you for your replies.

But as I have pcos right from the start of first period i never ovulate  without medicines. And in the past 2 years I have been on all kind of drugs for ovulation and none was successful.

Does any one of you have a similar thing and got pregnant ?

It very hard not to give up and pull yourself together every morning to start your fight for pregnancy with pcos. I feel like its a life time of dieting and exercise with out results.

  • Congratulation on your sucess i hope i get the same soon.....

I have never ovulated without meds either. I had success using femara to help my follicles grow big and strong. Then ovidrel trigger shot to help me actually ovulate. It took us 3 years to get our little girl, but it was worth it.
And yes, it is a tremendous struggle. Every day, every pregnancy announcement, every little kid is a reminder of what you want so badly and don't know if you will ever get. But keep your head up and keep fighting. It's so worth all the pain when you finally get your take home baby. Good luck.

  • I have PCOS and an amazing 16 month old daughter :) I got pregnant during a cycle where we canceled trigger and IUI because it looked like I hadn't responded to the meds when I went in for an ultrasound on CD16 after what I thought was a positive OPK. I ovulated about 3 days later, while we were on vacation and DD is our little souvenir!

  • Thanks. This gives me a hope and lots of strength to get back.

Today is CD2 and I am going in 2marrow for US and possibly will start my injections right away.

  • Good luck to us all!! I just received the results that my first IUI was unsuccessful (BFN).

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 months ago, did clomid 50mg for a few days, estrace orally, trigger shot (Novarel/HCG), had 2 follicles and took more estrace vaginally for thicken lining before IUI and through yesterday.

Now I am awaiting AF to start another round, RE wants to do everything the same....anyone out there have success with a similar scenario? Or in a similar scenario that can relate.

    Trying to stay positive!
  • I have PCOS as well and never ovulate with out meds, i also have crappy eggs so after 4 years we found out i would never get pregnant without IVF and ICSI, so we did that, and it took 5 years but we got pregnant! I now have a 22 mo old son and another on the way due in 2 months! It can happen, just do t give up!
    Good luck!

Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses....
All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!

I have PCOS and a HX of Endo and have one healthy DD with the help of Clomid, and one on the way (FX for a great ultrasound) Honestly, it's harder for me to maintain a pregnancy than to get pregnant (this is my fourth pregnancy and only one healthy child to show for it so far). Make sure they monitor your progesterone levels. Because of my PCOS, mine were just not high enough to maintain a healthy pregnancy without supplementation.

  • I have pcos and don't ovulate as a result. We got pg with our twins on our third medicated cycle after about 18 months of trying. Then poof! Pregnant spontaneously by ourselves 12 months later. It can happen. I have several friends dealing with IF right now and I know the journey can seem endless. Keep your head up and be in charge of your fertility as I'm sure you're already doing. You are your best advocate and know your body! Good luck I hope to see you on this board soon.
