We've called the pedi about DS's rash and they think it is eczema but I am tempted to take him in anyway to see if they think it is worth giving him some kind of stronger lotion or something for it. Per their instructions we use hydrocortisone cream 2x a day and aveeno eczema cream as often as needed. When we keep up with that, his legs and arms clear up within 4-5 days. But if we start cutting back on the hydrocortisone it comes back with a vengeance. His legs look AWFUL right now, plus he has some spots on his arms, feet, and I just noticed one on his neck too. He's completely unphased so I know they don't itch or anything but seriously they look terrible. And I don't know that applying that much hydrocortisone cream so often is the answer!! Obviously I will be checking with the pedi again but anyone else have a LO with awful eczema and if so how did/do you treat it?

I have pretty severe eczema and my DD is following suit. All of our products are dye/fragrance free. I use Tide Free & Clear, Bounce Free for dryer sheets (none at all during a flare up), California Baby or Aveeno products in the tub, etc.
The Aveeno Eczema Baby lotion is great for maintenance mode (I use it myself).
I agree with others though, see if you can get allergy testing done. I have to stay away from certain foods, as does DD. Also, Huggies cause my DD to have an outbreak. Totally random.

Have you tried coconut oil? I love that stuff. I grease my daughter down in it every morning and evening. During the day at daycare they use lotion 2-3 times a day and lotion her during diaper changes. I give them the same lotion(s) as you - the Aveeno Eczema or Moisturizing lotion. But using the coconut oil lets me cut down on using the hydrocortizone cream. My pedi also recommended that only use the cream for 2-3 days and/or until the redness/rash heals. Then stop using until it reappears. There are a few different types of eczema so pinpointing which kind your daughter has will probably help. My daughter's is more weather related.
Try the coconut oil
I have found Derma smooth and aquaphor over the top of that with long cotton pj's at night seems to help.

When his eczema was really bad, I used these for his baths when we couldn't use the cortizone cream. They really helped with the eczema!
