DD2 just started doing it. I think it's weird. I mean, I get it, because I wouldn't want to poop while people are watching me either, but babies don't really understand shame or get embarrassed. That makes me think there's something innate in us that enjoys privacy while we poop, kind of like how women generally do better when given privacy in labor.
And that's my random fecal thought of the day. Sometimes I feel like my life revolves around poop.
Re: Does your LO hide to poop?
She never stands still any other time, haha. My MIL tells me that her kids hid to poop though.

And I've had at least one kid in diapers for seven years now, half of that time there have been two in them at once. And even when they are potty trained I'm often wiping butts to make sure they really get clean.
It's the reason we didn't get another dog when our old one passed away. I don't want to poop scoop.
No mine doesn't hide, he stands there and poops and then tells me after "Poop"
LMAO
No shame my kid, none. lol
I feel like there is a bizarre amount of poop in my life given my profession. We have an elderly patron at the library who is constantly calling to ask questions about things like colitis and barium enemas and such, I believe I've mentioned her here before.
Auditing generally does not involve poop, but I feel like my coworkers and I just happen to talk about poop waaay more than is normal. We even have a designated poop toilet, downstairs, so no one has to smell the poo-stink upstairs where our offices are. Anytime someone goes downstairs, you know exactly what they're doing. ;-)
And DH writes about poop (and today, pee) a really bizarre amount in his job as an editor for a science/technology website. So yeah. Poop all the time.
