Names are fun...

...so we're starting to think about them before I'm even pregnant again.  DH and I are TTC, and I torture him regularly by already talking names.  

We tend to like fairly uncommon (or I guess just not overly popular) names that are easy to spell and easy to pronounce when being read.  For boys names, we usually go for shorter and one syllable, but that's certainly not a mandate.  For girls, we'd love to use the middle name Lynn unless it sounds horrible with the first name.  DS is named Pierce Fenley (middle name is a family name).

I'd love your thoughts on our lists so far (and feel free to offer other suggestions).  All middle names are family names.  Thanks, ladies!

    Great list overall. I don't love phoebe or Margot (I always see magot) but the rest are awesome. Daphne is my favorite for girls. Dean Francis kicks ass. Love it!

    LOVE LOVE Hugh! Love Cormac as well. Both were on our list for DS2. I like Dean a lot too. On your girl list I like Daphne and Calla the most.

    LOVE your boy list! I think my favorite is Hugh Francis with Grant Edward and Dean Francis very close behind. Brooks is also a guilty pleasure for me.

    I like Margot and Daphne but I don't love Lynn as a middle name for Margot. I prefer Margot Ann.

    Have you considered Lynn as a fn?

    I'm in love with Lila. It's the only name DH can agree on. Also, Dean Francis is adorable!

    I am not trying to be mean, but I'm going to give you an honest opinion of your list, because I want to be helpful.  These are just my opinions and you're free to chose any name you like!

    Daphne Lynn-- I really don't care for Daphne, too much "f" and sounds cartoonish to meLila Ann-- I love the sound of Lila, but to me Ann is too plain (I know it's a family name)
    Calla Grace-- Calla is beautiful and unusual!  Grace is again, too common for me.
    Thea Lynn-- I love Thea.  
    Fiona Lynn-- I love Fiona.
    Margot Lynn-- I love Margot.
    Phoebe Lynn-- Don't care for Phoebe, too much "f".  Again, just my opinion.


    Alec Paul-- Alec seems too nickname-y to me, but Paul is nice and strong.
    Dane Francis-- Love how Dane sounds, but makes me think of Great Dane.  Francis makes me think of a monk, but again, just opinion, and I do like how it sounds, this is probably my fave of your list.
    Dean Francis-- Dean makes me think of "bean", and Francis makes me think of a monk.  I like how Francis sounds though.
    Grant Edward-- sounds a little stuffy to me but not too common at least.  
    Hugh Francis-- Don't really care for Hugh.
    Brooks Edward-- Brooks seems like a girl name to me.
    Cormac Paul-- I like Paul but not sure about Cormac.

    My favorites are Fiona Lynn and Daphne Lynn. For boys: Dean Francis and Grant Edward.

    Thanks, everyone!  Outside perspectives are helpful.

    @jburdet1 Lynn is my middle name, my mom's middle name and my godmother's middle name, so I think I'd like to keep it in the MN spot.  Also, I'm not sure I love it enough for FN.

    @bromios Not deliberate on the Greek theme, but yeah, I guess you're right!
