Gerber Soothe Formula

Anyone else feed this to their LO? DS at 10.5 weeks still does NOT give more than a 4 hr stretch at night. Wondering if the formula just doesn't fill him up since it's partially digested..? I know I'm grasping at straws here but I'm freakin exhausted. He eats every 3 hours during the day sometimes less and 5 oz each feed. Total of 35 oz and Ped told me not to exceed 36! Any thoughts on the formula? Thanks

Re: Gerber Soothe Formula

  • The main ingredient is Corn maltodextrin which goes thru the digestive system very fast. My babies have issues with pooping and instead of switching formulas pediatrician said to put a teaspoon of prune juice 2x a day in bottles of regular Similac advance. I was worried about the sugar in prune juice so I do 1/2 teaspoon once a day and they are pooping just fine now. I guess it depends on why you are on that formula. It's so hard to figure these babies out sometimes. I had issues with projectile vomiting in the beginning and was told to use similac soy but instead I switched to a different type of bottle and that fixed the issue.

  • Ok thanks everyone. Switched from Similac sensitive since he had a lot of gas. He poops fine on Gerber soothe and seems less gassy. I was just wondering if his inability to give a long stretch at night was perhaps related to the formula, but sounds like it's probably not and I just have a baby that likes to eat all the time :-) Maybe when he starts eating pizza for dinner he'll sleep through the night!
