What are you doing to keep cool?

Left work today with my heart set on getting in our pool, to get home and find out there is some piece missing so it's not done yet and won't be till at least Monday. I find this out after pulling out my maternity swim suit and getting both kids dressed for the pool to walk out back like WTH why is it not filled.
So now I'm out on the lawn sitting with my feet in the kids pool while they enjoy the water fun (even though they are definitely cramped in there- it's better then no water fun it seems lol)..
What is everyone else doing to keep cool?

Re: What are you doing to keep cool?

  • We have snow and rain in these parts so I have been trying to stay warm!
  • Loading the player...
  • I won't take the snow but I would take the rain.

Watermelon does the trick for me
Married my best friend 7/2/11 - Furbaby born 7/9/11 and brought into our home 9/1/11

BFP#1:   2/2/13 ~ exact m/c date unknown but around 3/20 at 10 weeks ~ diagnosed with PMP ~ D&C on 4/5 ~ TTA for at least 1 year due to PMP ~ cleared to TTC 1/14

    BFP#2:   2/7/14 ~ m/c 2/20/14 ~ possibly due to chemical pregnancy ~ TG no D&C is needed

Surprise BFP#3:  4/4/14 ~ super duper extra happy (and nervous) about this one - EDD 12/9/14!!!

John Joseph was born on 12/12/14 at 7 lbs. 11 oz.  He is the most beautiful rainbow baby we could have wished for!

  • Got home from the gym last night and was feeling extra warm (I live in Arizona!), so I made a smoothie with berries I had frozen and some almond milk.  Totally cooled me down from the inside out and highly recommend it to all the ladies this summer!  I had strawberries, peaches, and blueberries washed and ready to go in the freezer, put them in the blender with some almond milk and it was delicious, cold treat.  Now I need to go stock up again.
  • Watermelon and AC.

    Test
  • Swam today and ate the hell out of some popsicles!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Sliced green apples, boxed fan, and buck naked! lbvvs
  • I'm still waiting to get hot. I had the heat on yesterday because it was 60 in my house.

Nooooo don't say that it's easier to warm up to comfortable than to cool down, enjoy the cooler weather.

I know, you're totally right. I'm originally from Texas so if I'm not sweating my balls off I assume the weather is "cold".
Slap me in August when I'm big and pregnant without A/C complaining about the heat.

  • Sonic ice and the swimming pool.

Do you have a pool at home or do you go elsewhere?
Wondering b/c we have one at home but was going to take kids to the local Y for lessons and before signing up they ask about pregnancy and if your pregnant you can only frequent the outside pool so now I'm wondering how many places do this.
I'm assuming they have poor ventilation and maybe think the chemicals in the pool the smell would be to overwhelming but i've just never heard it before.

Staying inside. I want some watermelon now.
  • It was 97 yesterday and I was chasing 30 teenagers around outside at horse camp. Never have I wanted to be in a pool so badly! Thinking I might disappear for a few hours today to find one.

Yesterday I was just excited for the biggest slush at Sonic!
  • Complaining.
