Switching between formulas WWYD

I got a bunch of free containers of formula from people in the area, I used all the Similac first, and now I'm finishing my last container of enfamil newborn.

I also received two containers of enfamil gentle and Similac sensitive. Would you give those to LO even though she doesn't need that kind and it would only be for two containers? Or should I just purchase the kind we intent to use going forward and donate these? I don't want to waste it but I don't want to hurt her belly either.

I've been told that it's OK to use different brands of the same type if it doesn't bother LO but that you shouldn't mix types. I'd donate them, personally.

My pedi told us that once you go to a gentle/sensitive formula, a lot of times it is hard to switch back to a regular one because the proteins are much easier to break down in the gentle ones and LOs stomach can get used to that and have a hard time with the regular ones. Personally, I would stick to one formula or type of formula. I would either give the others to a friend or donate them.

I started with similac (started in nicu) then went to enfamil newborn they sent us with then to a couple cans of enfamil gentle (helped with the gas he had) and then went to SAMs brand of gentle. Never had problems switching around (gas started right away) but I did skip the can of enfamil Enfacare bc it was very different from the rest on the nutrition facts. All the others were very similar. Maybe check that and see what you think.
