What do you think of Emmeline with my current sib set and given the popularity of Emma / Emily?

Current DDs are: Cl.aire, Ch.arlotte, and Han.nah

Other names on our current list: Helena, Elena, Isabel, Nora(h), and Sarah

I think the name is just ok, and that you will wind up calling her Emmy/ Emma.

Much prefer the other names on your list! I think for your sibset I like Sarah best. GL!

I like Emmeline a lot (was on our girl list if DS had been a girl). It's fallen off my list but I still think it's pretty. One of my big hang ups was the glut of Emmas/Emmies/etc that I was afraid it would be lumped in with.

It is not the same name or pronunciation as Emmalyn, btw.

Thanks for the feedback. I have always loved the name Emma, but don't want to use it due to popularity (ironic, I know, since I have a Charlotte). That is why I was entertaining Emmeline. Plus I just love "old fashioned" names.

Picking a name for our fourth daughter is seriously stressing me out... LOL.

I love the name Nora(h)!! It is such a classic name. Evelyn is kind of close to Emmeline.

Evelyn is actaully on our list as well, but I am just not loving it as much as the others on the list (today).

Maybe she'll come out looking like a little Evelyn. We always wait until we meet the little lady to pick a name.

I love Nora. I know of several babies named Emmalynn/Emalyn/Emmeline, most of them are called Emmy. I just can't get on board with it.

I think it is kinda perfect with your sibset! Even though it is similar to Emma, I don't think it has to get shortened to Emma/Emmy.

I like it a lot.

The other hesitation I have is that Emmeline would have a cousin, Emily that we see every 3 months or so. I am okay with that similarity, but would others side eye?

Ben Folds has a song called Emaline, which is what I think of, but not in a bad way. I think Emily and Emmeline are different enough.
