E slept like crap last night, was up several times, ran a high fever all night (103-104), and was still off when he got up this morning. So I called the dr and made an appointment. I wasn't sure if maybe he had an ear infection?
Now, he's playing in the living room like normal. He has had only one glass of juice in over 12 hours, and won't eat anything. That is completely NOT normal.
He was still running a temp of 101.9 this morning and I gave him some Tylenol when he got up at 9:15. He then laid on the kitchen floor and sobbed until I was finished mixing the juice and could pick him up again. Is this just the Tylenol kicking in? Should I cxl the Dr apt? This kid is confusing the hell out of me.

Re: Am I crazy? *new question below*
ETA: Actually, that's a lie. I'd tug gently on his ears to see how he responds, and if he acted like they hurt, I'd pop a couple garlic cloves in there. I'd also let him run around nekkid (ok, just a diaper), to help bring the fever down. I'd also be pushing fluids like a mad woman.
When my son gets a fever, I alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 4 hours and that keeps his fever down. Otherwise, it'll spike about an hour before I can give the next dose. You could give that a shot, it might help him be more comfortable. Hope he gets feeling better!

My older two rarely ever get an antibiotic for an ear infection but my youngest has to have something or it turns into an asthma attack and who knows what else every.single.time. I hate seeing him on so many meds.
I almost cancelled his last appointment because he started feeling better, I was so thankful I didn't because he was a pretty sick kid. I mentioned it to the front office staff and they said to always keep the appointment because almost every time parents regret it by bedtime and wind up calling back the next day for another appointment.
