My DS weighs a liitle over 13 lbs and is 25 in long at 10 weeks. He fits in 6 month clothes now and isn't even 3 months old! I'm thinking all the clothes I got for him on sale for the winter he will never get to wear. (
DS was in 12 mo clothing at 4 mos, but leveled off and wore them for 8 months. DD2 has been in 6 mo clothes since 8 wks. I suspect she'll do the same thing as DS. I've been getting her 12 & 18 mo clothes for the winter.
Yep, our LO is the same size and we put away the last of his 3-month clothes today. It's sad to put away the cute stuff he used to wear, but we have drawers full of 6-month clothes (and 9 and 12) that people gave us, so we can go shopping in his dresser :-)
Yup, my little dude is 10 weeks & moving into the 6 mo stuff. The stuff which is sized 3-6 mo fit him best now, the actual 6 mo stuff is a bit too long. He's also 13 lbs but 24 inches.
I can hardly keep up too! It seems like once I feel like I have enough of one size to get me through at least a week, he grows! Haha At least he is healthy and growing!
DS is 9 weeks, still in 0-3 but I've decided it can't hurt to have the "staples" ready for the next sizes(short/long sleeved onesies, pants and sleepers...). I just hate that different brands fit differently (just like my clothes) or when companies make different ranges (ie gerber has a "3-9mo" and giggle baby? has a "6-12mo"!). Why can't we all use the same ranges/sizes!!
~ Leah, Rachel and Gabriel were born on May 27, 2013 (23 weeks) ~
This is why I'm so glad I buy 90% of clothes at the children's consignment store. A is still wearing 3 month onesies, but 3-6 month sleepers and pants for length.
I'm in the same boat. DS2 will be ten weeks on Friday, and we just went to docs yesterday. He's 13 and a quarter lbs and 24.5 inches long. Six month stuff over here.

My DD is only 8 weeks and is 13 lbs and at least 24". Her 2-month appt is Monday so I am just guesstimating on the length but I did weigh her this morning. She is in size 2 swaddlers and 6-month clothing. She still fits in some of her 3-month clothes but really only the dresses. Her torso and legs are too long for anything that snaps at the crotch or for any 3-month pants.
The crazy thing is when she was born I had to buy some newborn clothing because she was too small for 3-month clothes. This little girl is really taking advantage of mommy's all you can eat buffet!
I was so excited to have two boys almost exactly 2 years apart since it meant I wouldn't have to buy more clothes...HA! LO is now bigger than DS1 was at four months. DS1 is wearing 12-18 month shorts still, and LO just moved into 3-6, which is all fall/winter stuff from DS1 so I need to buy more. I'm sure in a year or two they'll be sharing clothes .

I agree!! It is super confusing! H&M has the weirdest sizes for baby clothes. I think DS got something in size 6-8 months.
tessa wore newborns for the first 7-8 weeks and is just now transitioning to her 3-6m stuff at 9 days shy of 3 months old. kiddo (who was almost 2 pounds heavier than her at birth) came home from the hospital busting out of a 0-3 month outfit. his first christmas outfit when he was 8 months old was an 18-24m size
you really never can tell until they start showing you how big they are and how fast they grow! i have a few adorable 3-6m cooler weather outfits that i had purchased ahead of time, thinking she'd come out a similar size as kiddo and she would be able to wear them by late may or early june when it was still not quite summer temps yet.... nope. she'll fit into them in the dead of july when she won't want to wear long sleeved anything. bummer. such a waste!
That's because their sizing is stupid! Their 3 months=0-3, 6 months=3-6, etc. I wish I knew this earlier. I put off trying on several 3 month outfits for so long thinking they wouldn't fit DD for awhile. Now she's outgrown most of them and is fitting in some of the 6 months already!

For us Carter's actually works best. It's the most true to size brand we've found! The Children's Place though runs crazy small! Eden wears 3 month Carter's things at 2.5 months and 6-9 month things at TCP.

OMG H&M has baby clothes! Thank you!
Haha no problem! I love their baby clothes. Reasonably priced, a range of random sizes and super cute!! They usually have good sales online too!
My DD is 2.5 months and wearing 6-9 month clothes now. I brought winter stuff she'll never wear. Thankfully some things still have tags and I can bring back, others it's a loss. I just brought some cute 18 month things that should fit in the fall/winter. Never again will I buy things in advance and NEVER newborn.

This exactly! He is still wearing 3 month Carters and doesnt fit in any of the 6 month clothes I have from Children's Place. He hasn't even worn any of them yet because I figured they were too big and had them put up! What a waste!
Clothing sizes are nuts. Even within the same brand.
I have so much stuff from Carters and the sizes vary a lot even from there. He can wear 3 month stuff as well as some of the 6 month stuff. it just depends really.
Gerber sizes are ridiculous . their 3 months is more like a 0-3 months in my opinion.
DD is 8 weeks old and finally starting to outgrow most of her newborns. She's been too long for the sleepers for a while, but the onesies still fit. They are getting a little right, and she's been wearing some 0-3s, but a lot of then are too big still. I guess I have the tiny kid on the board
Re: Baby Clothes!
My SO warned me about going crazy with clothes because babies grow at crazy speeds. I have just enough of each size for now.....
