LO babbles, but he/she definitely doesn't know the meaning of the words.
LO babbles, but I can't tell if he/she knows the meaning of any of the words.
Re: Words
Eta: he understands quite a few words, though. Up, down, head, foot, walk, book, open, shut, jump, bounce, bang.
DS born 6/2013
He also babbles all the time.
She has about 20-30 real words including: mama, dada, "da" (Quinn), Ellie (our dog), hi, bye, hot dog (Mickey Mouse), apple, cheese, banana, wa-wa (water), yo-yo (yogurt), ni-ni (nighty night), all done, ball, baby, duh (duck), uh-oh, out (outside).
She's started to repeat some things back to us like Happy Birthday, I'm ready, and Hi Ladies (daycare workers at the gym), but I don't think she attaches meaning to those phrases.
Last night my husband woke me up after he was watching Owen for a bit and he asked me " babe, can Owen talk? " uhhh.... No! " I swore he said bye bye, but it didn't sound like I would say it. It was Def. A baby bye bye." Mmk, babe. " whatever. He can talk!"
I'm not sure that's 'talking', but OK.
and he'll bark and meow and hiss.
And he understands a ton too.
She mostly babbles but says No (and shakes her head) and refers to us as Mameh and Da, even though we refer to SO as Papa so we dont know where 'Da' came from. She kind of hums 'uhoh'. She also makes a "woof" sound whenever she sees any type of animal.
She understands Hello, goodbye, arms up (when taking off a shirt), "can momma/papa have that?", and no (but usually doesnt obey).
She'll be one on the 25th.
He also says dada and always means his dad.
He has a few signs, too. Milk has adopted a more general hungry/tired meaning. He also signs daddy. Can you tell who the favorite parent is? He's hit or miss on signing more. A lot of the time he'll just sign milk again if he wants more if whatever he's eating.
Today is his 1st birthday!
