Timed Intercourse

How in the world do you make it good? I don't know about you, but after getting up at 5:30am, going to work for 8 hours, coming home, cooking dinner, giving my son a bath, and getting him off to bed, I am exhausted (dh helps of course, but he is just as exhausted because he works 10 hours at least a day). The last thing I feel is sexy, especially when I am being told what specific nights I need to have sex. By like night 2, my husband is over it too- when not trying to have a kid, the sex is great, but putting a timeline on it, makes it not so great.

How do you handle it?

My History:
Lots of BFN's & failed IUI's w/clomid and/or femara
Finally BFP with femara & t.i.- son born 6/17/2010
Started TTC again around when DS was 3ish
Lots of BFN's with femara & t.i & ovidrel
Tubes clear, S.A came back low motility but high count
About to switch to injectables w/femara, did one last cycle with just femara & an IUI with ovidrel- stupid motility was fantastic in the sample, but count was 700,000 AFTER wash! Had to sign a paper to even still do IUI- BFFP (big fat freaking positive) Go figure!
1st Beta 13dpiui 54, 2nd beta 48 hours later 115, 3rd beta 48 hours later 310, 4th beta 72 hours later 1748.

    I agree, I feel like it is such a chore when it is timed and I freakin hate it. I TRY to pretend we arent ttc, but it doesnt always work. lol

    I sort of try not to tell DH when the timing is right.  That way, he just thinks I'm feeling frisky and he tends to enjoy it more and make it more fun for me.  But of course he's not dumb and can pick-up on the timing issue.  It's hard to get around the pressure of TI.

    Two failed clomid cycles (made lining too thin)
    Started acupuncture while saving for IVF in Sept 2011
    Add herbal infusions to the mix in Dec 2011
    Hoping holistic approach works!!!

    Meepy Man born on Jan 2013 - Hip Hip Hurray!

    Ready to start ttc #2 April 2013, but plan to be an extended BF'er
    Back on metformin Aug 2013
    Restart herbal infusions Sept 2013 - currently drinking nettle, oatstraw, and red raspberry leaf
    DS weaned in April 2014
    Taking a break from herbs and just riding the healthy train.  
    Planning medicated cycle end of summer.  FX I get KU before then!!!

    Yup, me too, I don't make a specific mention of it to DH so then he's more into it which makes me more into it. It's tough.
    Me: 32, DH: 33
    DS #1: April 2010
    DS #2: July 2015 (preemie born at 31 weeks) - our little miracle conceived through ART - unexplained secondary infertility/adenomyosis

    That's a good idea, my DH doesn't pay attention to what part of the cycle we are at, so that may work. Thanks

    This may be silly but when we take turns picking something to spice it up each timed night. For example, we have a karma sutra book and sometimes we'll pick a new something to try in there or he will pick lingerie out for me or a cosmo article. We figure if we know its coming we might as well plan something unique. It helps us.

    The worst! The first two rounds are fun and then everything feels so forced. Sometimes the morning can be better?5 am is early though. Changing the daily routine can sometimes help. Wish I had better advice. :-?

    BFP 7/22/2013… (Shock!)... m/c 9wks, D&C 8/13/2013

    TTC #2

    Cycle #1: 10/28/2013 100 mg Clomid (day 5-9) …poor response (sono day 10=12mm follicle, day 13=13 mm, day 17=18mm); Ovidrel day 20

    Cycle #2: 12/2/2013 5mg Letrozole (day 3-7) ... poor response (sono day 12=14mm follicle, day 15=15mm, day 17=16mm); Ovidrel day 19

    Cycle #3: 1/5/2014 10mg Letrozole (day 4-8) good response!!! (sono day 13=25mm and 20mm); Ovidrel day 13

    Cycle #4: 2/3/2014 Birth Control 

    Cycle #5 3/3/2014 Birth Control

    Cycle #6 4/3/2014 Natural

    Cycle # 7 5/11/2014 10mg Letrozole (day 3-7) good response (sono day 13=22mg and 2x 16mg); Ovidrel day 13

    At least we aren't the only ones... And people who haven't had issues having a baby say "at least you can have fun trying" - yea, ok.
