DS is 10 weeks and goes to bed about 7:30-8. He is formula fed and still waking 2x middle of night. Last night was midnight and 3 then woke for day at 7AM. He guzzled 5 ounces each feeding. I guess I thought by now he'd maybe only wake once especially since his total for the day is 35 oz. And since formula takes longer to digest I was hoping for longer stretches. I'm wondering if he'll ever sleep through the night. My expectations are high I suppose since his sister (18 mos) STTN at 2 months. Is your FF LO doing long stretches or still waking several times? I guess I either need to re-implement the dreamfeed or go to bed earlier.
Re: Formula Feeding MOTN
I think it depends more on the baby than if they are FF or BF.
He had gotten to the point where he was waking up every two hours at night. I finally figured out it was his diaper, I was using some I got on sale and he could feel the wetness. I bought a pack of Pampers Baby Dry to use at night and now he's back on his regular schedule.
He had been waking at 1am but was hardly eating an ounce so I suspected it was more a habit waking. When I feed him MOTN I feed him in the crib with lights on the dimmest setting and say nothing/avoid eye contact, no diaper change if it's just pee. That helps him fall right back asleep.
I started going into his room at midnight and gently touching/rubbing him. He'd stir a little and re-settle without fully waking up. When I did this the 1am feed dropped and after three days I stopped going in at 12 and he still didn't wake up so mission accomplished, lol.
