Ameda PY vs manual pump

I have an Ameda PY pump that I received through my insurance but I feel like the suction is pretty lacking. I pumped for around 30 minutes first thing this morning (after DS STTN and feeding on one side) and only got about 1.5 oz. I've read that this is a common problem with this pump.

Since I am a SAHM and don't need to pump often, I was considering buying a manual pump.

Has anyone had better luck with a manual over the ameda?

    I think it must be a problem with this pump. I am exclusively pumping from my LO in the nicu and I do so much better when I use the pump at the hospital compared to this one.

    I agree, I have the same pump and it sits on the shelf as a back up. I can do better with a manual one
