I'm finally getting around to writing my birth story. For the most part it's fairly boring.

Long story short;
Had a planned c section June 11. My son, Cameron, weighed 10lbs 4 oz and is completely perfect!

The long story:

My due date was June 10. I went in for my 40 week appointment knowing that I could be sent to L&D because my doctor wouldn't let me go much past my due date because of the possible size of the baby and I had high fluid levels. I had to see a PA because my dr was running behind. She called L&D to try to get me admitted for an induction but they were full. Then I was sent for an NST and saw a different doctor. We discussed a c section because they were estimating my baby to be around 11lbs. My doctor then finally came in and we went over the c section again (we had been discussing the likelihood of a c section for several weeks). We scheduled for June 11 at 12:30.

We got to the hospital at 10:30. I was prepped and into the OR. I was so nervous. It helped that the medical team had some interesting conversations during the surgery. H commented that it smelt funny, I told him that was me. (My sister warned me about the smell, but holy moly it was bad!) The anesthesiologist told H that they were getting ready to pull out the baby. He took some awesome pictures. I heard the doc exclaim "Holy cow this is a big baby! We made the right call for sure!" Followed by the most amazing sound I've ever heard, my baby's first cry. My doctor commented after the surgery that if I had him vaginally my love life would never be the same!

June 11 at 12:40 we welcomed Cameron Forest into the world. He weighed 10 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. (Did I have the biggest kid so far? ;) )

I was given the option to leave on Friday but decided to stay until Saturday. Over night my blood pressure spiked and I was held until Sunday night. It sucked. I cried the entire weekend.

I also want to add, I struggled connecting with my baby while pregnant. It took us 3 years and a miscarriage to have him and it was a shock that I was pregnant. I lived in disbelief, I think I was guarding myself in case something happened. Because of that I really worried I wouldn't connect with my son when he arrived. I remember laying on the operating table praying that I would feel something when I heard him. I can't believe how in love I am. I feel totally connected. It's an amazing thing.
