5 year anniversary

I need help - our 5 year anniversary is coming up, and I have no ideas. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but don't want to not get DH anything for a milestone anniversary. Any ideas? What did you do?

Re: 5 year anniversary

  • The traditional gift for a 5 year anniversary is wood.  This has some different ideas https://www.uncommongoods.com/sets/wooden-gifts  What is your husband into?

His only real hobby is motor sports - which = $$$$. He also recently got into golf - which I'm finding also = $$$ lol

Does he like beer? DH made a wood 6-pack holder for our friend to give her hubs for their 5th. I'm pretty sure you could buy one on etsy or similar.

He doesn't really do jewelry and he never takes his watch off. He only drinks beer when with other people, and most of the stuff I buy him just ends up sitting in our closet. This is why we never buy gifts - he's hopeless to buy for, and the pickiest person on the planet :(

I thought about personalized golf tees - but idk. They're wooden, so that counts, right? lol

  • Have you looked on Groupon or Living Social for your area?

They have Get-A-Ways and sometimes have discounted golf course visits, etc.

Could you talk him into not exchanging gifts and instead using the money for a nice night out or weekend trip or whatever is appropriate for your budget?

  • What about something wooden for the house? Like a bench, table, decorations, etc,
  • Our five year anniversary we did pictures. We also went away for the weekend to go wine tasting.
