Pregnant after a Loss

**Wednesday Ticker Change**

Happy (almost) Wednesday ladies!! My movers are coming at 8am and we have a few last minute things to take care of still. So this will be a bit of a post and run until Wednesday evening. Next week will be back to normal except I will be in Texas (central time instead of mountain). :)

One more week down and that much closer to meeting our sweet LO's!

Just a reminder that this is a weekly check-in for those of us who start a new week of pregnancy today. If you are new, please feel free to jump in, give us your EDD, and welcome!

How far along are you?

How are you feeling? Symptoms?

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?

GTKY: Do you enjoy road trips or do you prefer another form of transportation? Why?

Re: **Wednesday Ticker Change**

  • How far along are you? 19 weeks :D
    I am almost half there!

    How are you feeling? Symptoms?
I am feeling good for the most part no real changes from last week. I am just dealing with heartburn today.
Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for? I have my followup with the specialist for a scan on Friday. I am nervous to go and having my mom go doesn't help my nerves. I wish my DH could go but he has to work and I know that my mom will love seeing her grandson. I am just trying to stay positive. It is also so close to your milestone when we discovered the issue with our angel and when we tx the pregnancy. So next few weeks until after 22ws is going to be hard.

GTKY: Do you enjoy road trips or do you prefer another form of transportation? Why?
I grew up around my moms parents aka my grandparents. My grandpa loved to drive all the back country roads and look at the scenery. I think that's were I get it from. I love driving place and seeing new things. I am looking forward to driving to the lake this year and seeing the mountain views. It's so beautiful there.

  • hi everyone!  my OB adjusted my EDD a couple weeks ago so my check-in day moved from tuesday to wednesday, but i didn't have time to post last week, so here i am now!  due 1/14/15.

    How far along are you?
    10 weeks

    How are you feeling? Symptoms?
this bean sprout has been pretty kind to me, symptom-wise (which has messed with PgAL brain quite a bit here and there).  only very light, very intermittent nausea.  mostly i've been dead-on-my-feet tired and i've had pretty miserable constipation.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?
my first OB appointment is this afternoon, although i had a consult and a dating scan already.  SO was supposed to come with me, but now DS has green slime coming out of his nose and a barking cough, so no taking him to the drop-in daycare and certainly no taking him with us, so i'm on my own.  i don't know if the OB is going to try to use the doppler or not...a small part of me is worried he will and won't be able to find anything. my biggest worry is being unable to keep SO's family health history straight.  i wonder if they'd let me take the paperwork home and drop it off later.

GTKY: Do you enjoy road trips or do you prefer another form of transportation? Why?
*sigh* it depends.  i've done my fair share of long-distance visiting by road, and it's not fun either way.  (2-day drive to visit my family from here, or a 3-hr flight...my LH and i had tried driving it straight through once--and we lived a couple hours closer back then, in the UP vs MN--and NEVER AGAIN.)  at the same time, flying with a small child isn't fun either.  it's kind of a "pick your poison" proposition.  pay a lot of money and deal with several hours of intense annoyance and discomfort (plus deal with a lot of transportation troubles when you get to the other side, having to get rides and borrow cars), OR pay a lot less money and have less intense discomfort and annoyance, but drag it out over two days.  lol

How far along are you? 15 weeks!  Baby is the size of an orange!

How are you feeling? Symptoms?  Headaches.  They're not horrible but definitely a nuisance.  I don't take Tylenol for them even though I know that's an option...I'm just plowing through them for now and drinking tons and tons of water.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for? Next Monday is my next OBGYN appointment - just a regular check up and we'll probably schedule my A/S then.  Today we have an appointment to tour a birthing center and meet with a midwife.  Not sold on changing directions form my OBGYN at this point but I am approaching it with an open mind and heart.  Wish me luck, and them as well (I have lots of questions :) )!

GTKY: Do you enjoy road trips or do you prefer another form of transportation? Why?  I enjoy road trips because it means our furbabes can come along with us..plus I enjoy driving.

@whiteroses05 - congrats on being 1/2 way there!!!! Eeee!!!
@longcat07 - welcome to the humpday check in ;).  GL at your OB appointment!  I hope your son starts feeling better soon.
@mmheartspb - FX your appointment on Monday goes really, really well and they find Perry's HB in no time :).
@Pink021 - Wow, you are sooo close :).  I'm so sorry you're still contending with nausea but so happy that your back pain and trouble sleeping has eased up a bit.

  • @whiteroses05 Yay for almost halfway!!  Heartburn sucks, though.  I've been waking up with it at like 3am lately.  Awful.  I'm sorry YH won't be able to go to your scan Friday.  Milestones are very hard and I will be thinking about you!

@longcat07 Welcome to Wednesday!  I hope your appointment went well and that your son feels better soon!

@mmheartspb Boo IBS.  I know that having symptoms let up is scary, especially right before a big appointment.  I felt the same way right around 11/12 weeks before my first doppler check.  I'll be sending you positive thoughts on Monday!  Keep us updated.  :)

@Pink021 Woohoo!  You are getting so close!!  I'm glad to hear that your back has been feeling better and you've been able to sleep.  It sounds like you and your LO are being well monitored at this point, but I'm sorry the BPPs have you a bit freaked out.

@carlsonbaby2014 I love how your text color matched your LO's size this week!  Sorry about the headaches.  Those are my least favorite ailment right after nausea.  Hopefully they will let up soon.  Hope your tour today went well and that you got the information you needed to help you decide if you're going to switch to the midwife or not.

@RN536 Yay for feeling great!  FX your quad test comes back normal.  It's always awesome to see your LO on the screen.  How exciting that you got confirmation on a boy!

How far along are you?  23 weeks.  Only one more week until v-day!!

How are you feeling? Symptoms?  Feeling pretty good actually.  Lilly kicks me enough that I feel pretty calm most of the time.  I've had some days when she hides somewhere and I don't feel as much (or anything for most of a day once this past week).  But as long as I feel her a few times a day I'm pretty happy.  I just wish she wouldn't insist on having dance parties when I'm trying to sleep.  Even as little as she still is, it's not the most comfortable feeling in the world and sometimes wakes me up.  My only negative right now is heartburn and achy legs keeping me up at night.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?  Still waiting on the new dr to tell me if they will take me or not, so no appointments even scheduled right now.  I plan on calling tomorrow to see what's up since they should have received my medical record by now.  Otherwise, I am about to drive about 1,000 miles back to Texas.  Not excited about it at all and hoping it isn't too terrible.  It's a pretty uncomfortable ride as it is.  At least DH loves road trips and I can just hang out as a passenger.

GTKY: Do you enjoy road trips or do you prefer another form of transportation? Why?  I actually dislike most forms of transportation.  When we take road trips, I get tense and it's not comfortable to sit for such a long time (we usually are doing the Austin to Greeley drive which is 2 days or about 15 hours of driving not including stops).  But I'm scared to death of flying so even though it's a shorter trip, my anxiety level is higher.  I do, however, enjoy going places on boats.  If I could take a few days and ride a boat back to Texas, I'd be a happy girl.  Never been on a train, so no opinion there.

  • @classicstar28 - i hope your move goes smoothly!  seems like it's always the way of it...baby is quiet while you're up and about, and wakes up wanting to party when you're ready to sleep.  i hope you hear back from your new doc...i can't imagine that they wouldn't take you.  re: trains...trains are awesome!  unfortunately, they take almost as long as driving and are almost as expensive as flying (if you get a bunk, which you would definitely want for an overnight trip).

@whiteroses05 - i hope your scan goes well tomorrow!

@mmheartspb - (((hugs)))  PgAL brain is a bitch.  having your symptoms ease up around now is normal, but i know that doesn't help when you're uneasy about it.

@Pink021 - bummer on the nausea so late in the game.  DS kind of did that to me.  i had a break from 15-25w and then it was almost as bad as it was in the beginning until he came. i hope your appointments keep bringing good news!

@carlsonbaby2014 - sorry about the headaches.  good luck with your decision between OB/hospital and midwife/birth center.

@RN536 - ooo congrats on the baby boy!  boys are fun.  (i'm sure girls are too, but i've never raised one, lol.)  your anatomy scan is the same day as my next checkup.

update on me, so i'm not waiting a week, lol.  the appointment went well.  he DID use the doppler, and we didn't hear it for long (only about a second the first time he found it and maybe 5 seconds the second time), but he found the HB, so that was awesome.  it didn't even take him that long to find...less than a minute each time.  and i just had a pap/pelvic last year (albeit with a different doctor), so he says i have two more years before i need another, so i got to skip that.  AND they didn't ask a single question about SO's family medical history.  so that was that.  lol

  • @mmheartspb Maybe Lilly is moving around so much because of her daddy being excited about the World Cup, just like your LO!  We were so happy when the US won on Monday.  Neither of us could believe it.  Hoping for a repeat result on Sunday!!  Glad that everything is ok with Perry!!!

@longcat07 How exciting that you got to hear the hb even if it was just for a second!  Sounds like a great appointment.  :)
