Cramping

Has anyone else had cramping this late? I had some in the first tri but none the last several months. Then boom, It's into my back and everything. I called my doctor and the nurse said its normal and as long as the baby is moving, which she is, it's probably nothing. I'm still spazzing out anyway! I really don't think it's a UTI I've had lots of those but I've been wrong before I suppose. Anyone have anything similar?

Re: Cramping

  • Mainly when I walk, I've had some the past few days. Like you, mostly the back, but I had some low pelvic pain this morning. That part I wasn't sure if LO was just doing headstands on my cervix again or RLP, but the back is a mother...

  • I suddenly had light cramping yesterday when I hit 25 weeks.  I really freaked out because Sunday night I had spotting after sex for the first time.  I called my Dr and she also said not to worry unless it becomes more like period cramps.  She suggested that I take a Tylenol and that I could be a little bit dehydrated so I chugged water all day/night Monday and have not had any cramping today.

Hoping yours is something just as simple!  Try not to worry (easier said than done!!!).
  • Thanks, knowing others have had similar issues eases my mind about it. I was so freaked out earlier I was in tears, and DH is out of town which makes me more of a spaz. I'll just keep chugging the water and being a bum for the evening.

  • I actually got sent to labor and delivery yesterday because of severe cramping. Everything turned out to be ok and they concluded it wasn't preterm labor. Still not sure what it was from. The dr said it could be a number of things possibly dehydration or connective tissue stretching more. Since this is my third pregnancy he said sometimes it gets worse with each one. I would just take it easy and make sure you are drinking enough. But definitely if it gets severe call your dr. again better to error on the side of caution.

  • I got sent to labor and delivery last weekend for the same thing, because after the cramping woke me up three times the doctor on call was afraid it was preterm labor. They checked her heartbeat a few times, felt her move, and checked my cervix was still closed then sent me home and said I was fine. No clue what caused it.

This is my first to get this far so I am super cautious. But if it keeps bothering you call again. A quick check might make you feel better :)

  • @AmandaJean12 glad everything was ok! They asked me if she was moving around and she was/is so told me to come in if it got worse. It's better today. I have a doctor's appointment Friday so I'm hoping to talk to my doctor then.

  • Ive had period like cramps the entire pregnancy. Ive mentioned it several times and they said some will cramp the whole time. Its just from stretching etc. if it was to get severe or with bleeding then Im supposed to be concerned.
  • I have had a lot of cramping off and on- it's lessened but I still experience it. I had terrible cramping last week at 22 weeks- it felt like period cramps and I had pressure in my pelvic area which freaked me out. I actually called the on call doctor at my obgyn practice at night because I was convinced something was wrong and the doctor said it sounded like the baby had it's head on my pelvis on some sort of nerve that was causing the pain. She said to call again if I had increased discharge, spotting, or cramps got worse. They never did and by the next day I felt much better. I hope the same happens for you!

  • I get them every few days too. Feels like period cramps. I just try to hydrate a little more when it happens.
